Measles aren’t that bad. Don’t know what the fear mongering is all about.
There's a 20 to 40 percent risk of you dying if it reaches the brain
And not just that
Whooping cough is scary as hell
I feel like we are jumping around a lot
@The Gwench If we have the ability to eliminate a disease, we should, even if it's not as dangerous as say polio
Can we stick on what topic
I had pertussis as a kid it nearly killed me lol
@Bear. what are the chances of the virus reaching the brain?
Can I just ask,
That’s the right question?
Fairly large I think, not sure
Governments don't eliminate diseases. they control their distribution among populations.
There's more than just measles
Is there anyone here that believes in the vaccinations cause autism thing?
I feel like we are all debating the wrong eay
This is just the lounge, not civil debate
In Aristotle's Rhetoric he makes it clear that debate is to prove a point to an audience not an opposition
Not a debate
Just look at trials
oH you're talking to them
okay sorry about that
The prosecution and defense aren't convincing each other they are convincing the jury
Like that is linked to measels
/shrug
XD
For convincing each other there is cognitive behavioral therapy
@Hamburger Guy That doesn't mean debate can't be about convincing opposition, as fruitless as it might be
@Fading that's what I am saying
Question Of The Day #49
Is it against our individual rights and freedoms to make vaccinations mandatory?
We want to know what you think. Speak your mind in the <#484514023698726912> grin
No !!
Lmao i need behavior therapy
Your opposition will never change their mind
jump in vc
@Hamburger Guy my ex girlfriend was a very devout christian and through a lot of debate she eventually chose to be agnostic/atheist. It can happen it's just rare
@Hamburger Guy You can choose not to do it because of the low success rate, but it's still something you can try. I agree, generally useless these days
@Fading cognitive behavioral therapy is more effective
@Hamburger Guy Do you really think you should use CBT on people who have a different opinion to you?
