Solar energy is useful if you install it as an extra energy source for your house or you can give up enough space for it (like the US)

2019-03-18 07:41:30 UTC

For smaller nations, not so much

2019-03-18 07:58:04 UTC

Solar energy is useful yes

2019-03-18 07:58:05 UTC

but

2019-03-18 07:58:14 UTC

nuclear energy is much more efficient

2019-03-18 08:00:24 UTC

Yeah, that's why I prefer Nuclear

2019-03-18 08:00:32 UTC

Chernobyl gives it a bad name

2019-03-18 08:00:49 UTC

But still, even with Chernobyl, it has the least fatalities!

2019-03-18 08:01:43 UTC

Nuclear meltdown is very rare

2019-03-18 08:01:49 UTC

if you know what you're doing

2019-03-18 08:02:17 UTC

Yeah

2019-03-18 08:02:35 UTC

Both Chernobyl and Fukoshima were due to other problems

2019-03-18 08:02:42 UTC

Chernobly was rushed by the Soviets

2019-03-18 08:02:53 UTC

Fukoshima was just a series of unfortunate events

2019-03-18 08:03:24 UTC

I mean one thing which interests me about Yang is that he is pro-Nuclear power

2019-03-18 08:03:39 UTC

But need to do more research into him

2019-03-18 08:11:38 UTC

Well nuclear fission was just made possible.

2019-03-18 08:11:55 UTC

So that removes a lot of risks with typical nuclear power stations

2019-03-18 16:26:31 UTC

:simples:

2019-03-18 16:26:39 UTC

Hmm

2019-03-18 16:27:42 UTC

@beyond_gravity Of course Guardian would say that

2019-03-18 16:27:59 UTC

usual late stage capitalism retardation <a:PepeRain:537585945311051786>

2019-03-18 16:28:10 UTC

They're the same idiots who probably support the one child policy

2019-03-19 10:51:25 UTC

<:fakenews:501800176844013578>

2019-03-19 13:53:52 UTC

Hmm

2019-03-19 15:14:46 UTC

@beyond_gravity They've been predicting a flood until like a decade ago

2019-03-19 15:14:54 UTC

Now they're predicting a drought

2019-03-19 15:16:27 UTC

you could say they have no idea

2019-03-19 15:16:34 UTC

and you'd be right <:XD:503690220202360853>

2019-03-19 17:56:15 UTC

there is a difference. They are predicting about a shortage of fresh water (read: drinking water), but the flooding would be from rising sea levels and we all know sea is salty (read: not drinkable)

2019-03-19 18:10:45 UTC

The point is that their predictions aren't exactly reliable

2019-03-19 18:11:39 UTC

Plus, apparently Britain isn't rich enough to filter water?

2019-03-19 18:33:24 UTC

it depends from a) what are you filtering exactly, commonly its sewage b) quantity c) access to fresh water supplies d) access to sea water

2019-03-19 18:33:59 UTC

luckily UK has it easy

2019-03-19 18:34:20 UTC

but a worse scenario is going to happen with Mexico city

2019-03-19 18:34:32 UTC

it was built in a swamp

2019-03-19 18:34:49 UTC

and it has colossal deposits of fresh water underneath

2019-03-19 18:34:55 UTC

but they are going to run out

2019-03-19 18:35:29 UTC

and when that happens, you have no other sources for 8.8 million people
