Woman empowerment whoo

2019-04-17 15:20:27 UTC

Women should have the right to vote

2019-04-17 15:32:09 UTC

but in my country only men contribute to society

2019-04-17 15:32:16 UTC

(economy)

@Deleted User uranium is infinitely better than fossil fuels

2019-04-17 23:55:44 UTC

I'll put it this way

2019-04-17 23:56:25 UTC

Would you rather put milluons upon millions upon millions of tonnes of dangerous stuff into the air you breathe every day

2019-04-17 23:56:54 UTC

Or put a very small amount of more dangerous stuff deep underground where it can likely go undisturbed for millenia

2019-04-17 23:58:39 UTC

Id rather keep fossil fuels

2019-04-17 23:58:43 UTC

Why?

2019-04-18 00:03:02 UTC

Because we been using it for so long that we know its a reliable fuel source. And uranium has it problems what if it turns out to be unstable what if it runs out causing our economy to get fucked? Ill just stick to my already reliable source of fuel thats been used and trusted since the 1700s

2019-04-18 00:05:31 UTC

Well actually, Nuclear Power Plants have less deaths than other Power Plants

2019-04-18 00:05:38 UTC

Even when you include Chernobyl

2019-04-18 00:06:20 UTC

While the price of oil fluctuates due to the Middle East and Venezuela

2019-04-18 00:08:02 UTC

Coal has been going out of style for a while, with nations like the UK abandoning it since the 80s due to the fact that it was too expensive

2019-04-18 00:22:29 UTC

we are not even using uranium anymore

2019-04-18 00:22:33 UTC

modern nuclear reactors use thorium

2019-04-18 00:23:14 UTC

The real main issue with using nuclear reactors

2019-04-18 00:23:21 UTC

is that americans will larp around and invade ur country

2019-04-18 00:23:26 UTC

"muh muh nukes"

2019-04-18 00:24:04 UTC

Thorium however takes forever to weaponize

2019-04-18 00:24:07 UTC

it simply does not boom as much as uranium

2019-04-18 00:24:25 UTC

produces much less waste

2019-04-18 00:25:03 UTC

and has more efficiency

2019-04-18 00:25:07 UTC

simply much more

2019-04-18 00:25:21 UTC

considering that we were about to switch to thorium-based fuel after we ran out of uranium in the 1960s

2019-04-18 00:25:27 UTC

but suddenly we found more of the uranium

2019-04-18 00:25:40 UTC

the only downside of thorium reactor is that it is much much more expensive to build one

2019-04-18 00:25:56 UTC

But given that the united states can afford this, this is not an issue.

2019-04-18 00:26:02 UTC

The only issue is whether or not you have a permit for it

2019-04-18 08:29:19 UTC

@Deleted User Uraniam is stable and will take far far longer to run out

2019-04-18 08:29:33 UTC

Also @Techpriest I'm pretty sure Thorium reactors aren't mainstream yet

2019-04-18 08:29:40 UTC

But I'll agree they are far better

2019-04-18 08:29:53 UTC

-You can't really make nukes out of them

2019-04-18 08:30:04 UTC

-Far less likely to melt down

2019-04-18 08:30:22 UTC

-Waste has a far shorter half life

2019-04-18 08:30:43 UTC

-Very cheap, almost as common as coal

2019-04-18 08:31:03 UTC

-Produce more power (I think but will have to check)
