Which i explicitly said im not for
Hes a charlatan
I think it's more likely that he's just confused
I like to give the benefit of the doubt, up to a certain point
To a point but when i say im not for vegetarianism and he says "so of you dont eat me how will we not starve" i have to question...
growing cattle on one acre is alot more efficient than growing veggies at least where i am, i work on a family owned cow calf farm and we also grow a bit of corn for feed. we cant survive on just crops and neither can our economy.
Many other sources of similar information, but it's also pretty obvious stuff.
We eat animals because they are tastier, not because they are more "efficient" (ESPECIALLY with modern farming technology)
i dont think your qualified to tell me about this because you live in or around seattle
i live on the other side of the country
I'm not qualified to give you the scientifically backed up facts?
I'm not doing independent research here.
Your anecdotal experience has little meaning in this conversation.
It is a FACT that plant-based food is more space and energy efficient than meat-based food.
They aren't taking livestock into outer space - it's NOT efficient. It's a luxury, plain and simple.
I could post more links, but I already posted a pretty good one just above - you can do your own research.
Meat is a premium luxury. You can find me a corner case such as nomadic herders (can't grow crops, rely on livestock) - but just like your fallacy about me not being "qualified" to discuss this topic, that is also a fallacy.
Im sorry but @Mr. Lewis i have said 3 seperate times now, all in response to you, that I am not arguing for a reduction in meat consumption. Perhaps those west of missourri are so unqualified to tell you about "this stuff" that you haven't even read my responses?
Now if you are willing to actually engage with me as a human being then i might be more inclined to respect you. Otherwise youre no longer worth my time. Throwing shit at wall is a better use of my time.
sorry i only want to enage with you as a dog or maybe a parrot or like a deer, but not as a human.sorry for the inconvenience. 🙁
Thats okay @Mr. Lewis thanks for tainting the water with your shit for the 23rd year in a row
but seriously i wasnt really talking to you anymore i was talking to dr cosby
i also wasnt treating you in an inhumane way
but to dr cosby meat isnt a luxury humans need meat to survive sure we could grow more crops on one acre but when it comes down to it humans need protein.
And the most efficient source of protein per acre is also plants...

Sup
nice abstract
It may say that but I believe in it either way
The case for becoming a vegetarian to save the environment is very week and inherently pointless.
The best reason for not eating meat is that all living creatures on this earth have the spark of life from God and they belong to him... It says in scripture that you should not kill, and it is wrong to torture and cause unnecessary suffering to animals. If your going to eat meat though it is best to eat the lowest forms of life such as fish and seafood, which is much better than drinking the blood of an animal who is in a higher form of life.
And animals in a higher form of life as it were, also provide important functions in society... Such as horses -for Labor and cows - to produce milk and dairy products and sheep -to provide wool etc.
There should be a basic level of care provided... And exception to this would be the sloughter of animals for medicine and for food if you need to keep yourself alive in desperate times.
You have to be realistic after all - And there are always pests that need to be eradicated.
A human life is still infinately more important than the life of an animal but does not mean that their life is worthless, or that torturing/sloughtering an animal is of no concern.
Imo
And also, when you make your kill... You should try to use every part of the animal so there death did not go to waste. The Chinese are disgusting and take this too far... But it is also bad to become as wasteful as we are now in these times. Most of the animal is wasted
**when you eat meat...
Becoming vegetarian or vegan does nothing and that's why we push for government regulation. Meat is 10x at best less efficient than plants because animals only have 1/10 of the carbohydratesthat they had to have eaten from plants, and plants are also much better than any form of meat for providing other nutrients (so realistically meat is probably around 20x less efficient than plants), and meat also contributes to climate change. But of course the government will never do anything because meat and food companies are large corporations with power.
Meat is also morally wrong, because animals are sentient although not at the same level as humans. Its probably fine to kill animals (but not torture them like we currently do) but not when it causes hunger and contributes to our planet becoming uninhabitable.
