When there’s a monopoly there’s no competition which defeats the purpose

2020-01-10 05:51:07 UTC

Of having capitalism

2020-01-10 06:44:54 UTC

that's a dangerous line of thinking for some, with analogs in quite a few areas

2020-01-10 06:45:33 UTC

'rich' people dont' create that many jobs, most are small businesses started with credit

2020-01-10 06:45:57 UTC

trickle down was part of a larger scam package that included those crazy interest rates and inflation targets

Can’t tell if that’s a girl or a guy

2020-01-11 04:48:12 UTC

Aliens must be using flies to see us humans

2020-01-11 04:48:36 UTC

And maybe when flies eat food the food gets sent to aliens so aliens could eat human food

2020-01-11 04:49:47 UTC

And maybe Flies are supposed to be annoying to see how aggressive us humans act if aliens were to attack us

2020-01-11 04:53:56 UTC

Flies are just enjoying themselves...but, there is an argument here...

2020-01-11 04:54:06 UTC

With our backwoods tech...we have "bugs" that are bugs...

2020-01-11 04:54:22 UTC

Huh?

2020-01-11 04:54:34 UTC

Bugs are supposed to be bugs

2020-01-11 04:54:36 UTC

Huh

2020-01-11 05:07:00 UTC

Fact is, is that Of course Australia was going to have a fire problem

2020-01-11 05:07:27 UTC

They decided to build cities around a desert and planted trees and dried soil and they expect it not to catch fire?

2020-01-11 05:07:39 UTC

Kinda hard not to have a fire problem when people are purposely setting fires everywhere

2020-01-11 05:08:00 UTC

180+ arrested for arson

2020-01-11 05:09:17 UTC

Right but I have a background in meteorology as well. Greenland High blocking in America looped around with the cycle which lead to above average temperature in Australia and little to no rain.

2020-01-11 05:10:09 UTC

Hard with these blocking setups for rain to be produced in certain areas because it blocks off upper winds and vertical motion

2020-01-11 05:10:27 UTC

Creates more of a sinking effect

2020-01-11 05:10:38 UTC

Which dissipates cloud cover

2020-01-11 05:12:26 UTC

Didn't Australia have a similarly super hot and dry summer in the 1850's?

2020-01-11 16:23:16 UTC

Why do you think the natives in Australia had the darkest pigmentation? Super hot environments do that to you over a period of generations.

2020-01-11 16:46:24 UTC

Don't believe that "heat" does anything to the pigmentation, but the sun light exposures, UV rays mainly changes peoples melanin, and a period of generations your DNA will adapt to over produce melanin to darken the skin.

Interesting model from NASA ... on how much the sea level will rise based upon Antarctica Glacier using their models. So, baring that no other major changing event, at least in my life time I'll only have to worry about 6" https://vesl.jpl.nasa.gov/sea-level/slr-uplift/

2020-01-11 17:25:35 UTC

yea true

2020-01-11 17:39:04 UTC

@Chameleon 6" still bad.

2020-01-11 17:42:15 UTC

not where I live

2020-01-11 17:42:57 UTC

but there's no stopping mother nature @Throttles

2020-01-11 17:43:31 UTC

We can reduce enhanced climate change so it's not mother nature @Chameleon

2020-01-11 17:49:51 UTC

No you cannot, you may try to impact certain aspects as to a few related causes of the planet warming, but the ultimate factor is one super volcano erupts and the whole effort the human "reduction" is for nothing. Mother nature cannot be stopped. But yes, picking up the trash in the oceans, and planting trees can help the animals living in those areas.

2020-01-11 18:04:55 UTC

Cham, you cannot, with a straight face and clear conscience, tell me that the way we are living as a society and as a planet is correct. It is undeniable that we are having an excessively negative impact on our environment.

That said, much of this "debate" about climate science is about ignorance and power.

2020-01-11 18:10:41 UTC

I don't disagree that our society is ruining our immediate environment, and our farms and our use of products made from resources that are not renewable or biodegradable will negate our ability to reuse the land we occupy. Let alone what we do to the oceans. Can we help sure, but saying all this helps prevent climate change is farce.

2020-01-11 18:28:25 UTC

Lol you can’t prevent climate change it is naturally occurring
