it wasnt a rural unindustrialised shithole
It was before
this was mianly due to the reforms of sergei witte and pyotr stolipyn
it was under the uSSR
But not once Stalin came to rule
due to industry being destroyed
under the civil war
it still had the 5th largest industrial base
You do realize Russia couldn't produce enough weapons for all it's armed forces in WW1
pre ww1
Well in terms of what happened in the Middle East President Trump sent a message: the days of appeasement are over. Target Americans, and you will be swiftly brought to justice.
omg ww1
@Unity.Nat dude, they had enough rifles. Just not enough ammunition. Remember, the industrialization was still ongoing (until probably the 1920s). The industrialization was unfocused on military and more on civilian things. However by 1916 a lot of logistical problems were still fixed. Plus the poor state of rails (which germans predicted would be fixed by 1917) helped with the problems
Civil war happend AFTER ww1
Or rather
Somewhere in ‘17
well it didnt really kick off until 1918
Revolution happened in 17
yeah
Like I said
like 2 and a half 5 year plans
Yes
Thats VERY fast
Wouldn’t call that a shithole
Just in time for roll out the T-34s
Russia before ww1 was bad.
btw by 1914 40% of russian workers were employed in industry, which practically didnt exist (except for a few factories) before the 1880s
it was booming economically but still behind
mainly due to two great ministerw
sergei witte and pyotr stolipyn
Over the summer I read a lot of what Stalin wrote, especially regarding the Kulaks, etc
A booming economy yet the people wanted to overthrow the tzar. Makes sense
Kulaks deserved worse
Easy to see how he was popular, at least among certain people
@Unity.Nat because the tsar was unpopular, weak willed, and lost wars
and autocratic
plus the economy boombed, the peoples wages didnt icnrease
and they remained poor
which his own inner circle hated as well
iirc
