Peterson is a druggie with nothing valuable to say. Those with any sense can easily see through his charade. He attracts the weak, absolutist types of people.

I've read them both. I would say he is a charlatan comfortably. I would not call him a failure

It's the domain in particular. If you agree with his psychological basis(Jungian, etc), then his work there is good. For me it's on the philosophy and his pontifications against 'cultural marxists', 'post modernists' and the like

he clearly has NOT read the post modernists he often brings up

cultural marxism is itself an oxymoron. i have some odd history with one of the originators of the term, and it's always struck me odd he went down that right(bill lind)

Maps of Meaning, the book, could almost be scene AS a post modernist work itself, as re some of petersons many lectures where he argues about the nature of trust etc

Back in the early days of 4th generation warfare theory popularization, well. Not early from HIS pov, but mine, 99-2000

and forward until he got more on the culture train

(Us version of culture war, his strategy ideas were always soak in cultural issues, but more of military culture for training officers, why the east fights differently than the west, etc)

I encountered him and his ideas when he was lecturing to young officers, i really got into it

Oddly enough, If he had read more marx, his own 4gw ideas would have grown some, because marx was one of the early 'complex system' analysts in intellectual history, and much of what maneuver warfare theory is is essentially re-organizing from an ordered system to a complex one
