There are gay men and lesbians who will date trans people, but there are also trans people who would not date a cis person

It's a sample size that reflects on the community.

You can't include the transgender community if a majority of your community just won't accept them.

It's not to mention that cis people use LGBT as a mutually exclusive term

i thought people were a lot more accepting of trans people than they actually are

this was quite a shock to me

however, just as i have surrounded myself with people who are accepting, you've surrounded yourself with people who aren't
