Feminist culture is toxic

2019-05-03 23:24:39 UTC

And everyone knows saying this shit doesn’t get girls btw

2019-05-03 23:24:42 UTC

imdeed

2019-05-03 23:24:45 UTC

I have a whole subreddit to prove it

2019-05-04 00:22:41 UTC

hi im a gender

2019-05-04 00:22:48 UTC

bye

2019-05-04 00:25:01 UTC

same

"Born Gay" - Is sexual orientation determined at birth?

2019-05-04 11:18:13 UTC

its a mixture really

2019-05-04 11:18:31 UTC

environment can have a massive impact on how someone perceives sexuality

2019-05-04 11:18:57 UTC

but i think being gay can be either an active choice or just a natural feeling

2019-05-04 11:28:45 UTC

I would say yes, it does seems to be genetic, mostly because we've observed animals in the wild with *exclusive* gay tendencies when mating

2019-05-04 11:29:32 UTC

there's definitely genetics involved

2019-05-04 11:29:39 UTC

I think that the society one is raised in can push a person's sexuality to the sideline, but the baseline genetic makeup and therefore desire is always "there"

2019-05-04 11:30:39 UTC

I don't really think being gay is any more of a choice then being straight. No matter how hard I try, I cannot will myself to desire to lick another man's butthole. I would imagine it's simply vice versa for gay people

2019-05-04 11:32:12 UTC

true, but you could have at some point has that desire instilled into you

2019-05-04 11:32:26 UTC

personally i think my environment had a heavy impact on sexuality

2019-05-04 11:33:09 UTC

What sort of environment would cause somebody to become gay, for example?

2019-05-04 11:34:39 UTC

well

2019-05-04 11:34:40 UTC

And what could cause an animal, with no societal pressures to speak of, to become gay and mate exclusively (even with alternatives present) with others of the same sex?

2019-05-04 11:34:50 UTC

yeah, that's down to genetics

2019-05-04 11:35:00 UTC

im not saying it doesn't have an impact

2019-05-04 11:35:28 UTC

I guess it would make sense lol, I could even use my nature vs nurture analogy

2019-05-04 11:35:37 UTC

but if a society preferred homosexuality or there was some sort of sexual trauma in a person

2019-05-04 11:35:51 UTC

i grew up around one gender

2019-05-04 11:35:51 UTC

GG @Deleted User, you just advanced to level 1!

2019-05-04 11:36:02 UTC

and i struggle to get any attraction from the other

2019-05-04 11:36:51 UTC

I would say that there still has to always be the base genetic component there, but perhaps some societal pressures push people who are already genetically disposed to be gay to have an attraction to those of the same sex?

2019-05-04 11:37:07 UTC

I think my glass of water analogy I use in regards to nature and nurture would fit this well, actually

2019-05-04 11:38:33 UTC

Nature, being how big the glass is, and nurture, how much water is poured into the glass. Genetics determine the size of this "glass" (or in our case, the possibility of having a same sex attraction) and perhaps societal circumstances would be how much this glass is filled?

2019-05-04 11:39:18 UTC

If that is the case, I wouldn't call it a choice, since somebody who has a genetic "chance" to be gay and who then is gay because of further societal pressures can't just choose not to be gay

2019-05-04 12:02:16 UTC

I mean Shakespeare was definitely Bi (or Bi-Curious) so it can't just be environment by itself

2019-05-04 12:02:33 UTC

But environment could help to further the gayness

2019-05-04 12:07:22 UTC

so make people curious can make them more likely to try homosexual things?

2019-05-04 12:12:39 UTC

It can be a person having more or less X or Y chromosomes making them have an inclination for the same sex, that would the genetic/born being gay part that we also see in animals. It also can be just influenced by the environment, the media, social pressure, etc.

2019-05-04 12:13:25 UTC

?

2019-05-04 12:14:32 UTC

if your not a XX or a XY you will die before you could born and if you survive you may have high health problems

2019-05-04 12:14:32 UTC

GG @Cadavaresk, you just advanced to level 1!

2019-05-04 12:18:05 UTC

I guess I didnt explain it well but is basically "a stretch on the X chromosome likely associated with homosexuality"

2019-05-04 12:18:05 UTC

GG @Blur, you just advanced to level 2!

2019-05-04 12:21:40 UTC

i don't think that the chromosomes change sexual desire that much
