sperm is potential for potential

2019-05-07 14:33:29 UTC

everything is lol ashna

2019-05-07 14:33:36 UTC

Okay, what if the zygote impedes on the mother's potential

2019-05-07 14:33:40 UTC

potential for potential for life = potential for life

2019-05-07 14:33:51 UTC

As in, the fetus could eventually harm the mother?

2019-05-07 14:34:01 UTC

Like some sort of pregnancy complication?

2019-05-07 14:34:03 UTC

ye

2019-05-07 14:34:07 UTC

what if the mother knows the child has no potential

2019-05-07 14:34:07 UTC

Yes, both economically, socially, and medically

2019-05-07 14:34:26 UTC

thomas no

2019-05-07 14:34:31 UTC

youchie

2019-05-07 14:34:45 UTC

For example a teen pregnancy has less potential to get the job they want or to continue in their life

2019-05-07 14:35:10 UTC

You would then be impeding on the mom's potential

2019-05-07 14:35:17 UTC

Medically yes, if the mother's life is at risk then the fetus would be unviable anyway, and even if you could save the fetus while killing the mother I think that a current life has precedent over potential life

2019-05-07 14:35:35 UTC

also in cases of rape. billcat, sperm and egg = potential for life right? do you think abortion should be allowed in cases of rape

2019-05-07 14:35:38 UTC

"Socially an economically?" No, that's just a cheap excuse to absolve somebody of a poor choice with a poorer solution

2019-05-07 14:36:03 UTC

so you would save a potential life by killing a already living human

2019-05-07 14:36:06 UTC

So, then by saying "current life has precedent over potential life" it would be morally wrong to force a mother to have a child which would ruin her current life for a potential of life

2019-05-07 14:36:50 UTC

I'll start by responding to ashnaa, Once we can agree on the vast majority of abortion cases, then we can address each outlier group

2019-05-07 14:37:01 UTC

To thomas, I literally just said the opposite

2019-05-07 14:37:13 UTC

wait what, sorry my english bad

2019-05-07 14:37:24 UTC

we're not going to agree

2019-05-07 14:37:24 UTC

GG @ashnaa, you just advanced to level 7!

2019-05-07 14:37:26 UTC

And to Komrade, nobody is forcing the mother to keep the child?

2019-05-07 14:37:48 UTC

You're saying they shouldn't get an abortion

2019-05-07 14:38:15 UTC

So, they'd then need to keep the child or put them up for adoption or a foster home. All of which end poorly

2019-05-07 14:38:16 UTC

No, because ending a life because it might harm your economic status is immoral to my view

2019-05-07 14:38:16 UTC

GG @Billcat, you just advanced to level 10!

2019-05-07 14:38:31 UTC

Uhm, no? That doesn't really make much sense.

2019-05-07 14:39:03 UTC

billcat, imagine you are pregnant, and you giving birth can mess up your life and ruin your dreams. would you still abort

2019-05-07 14:39:08 UTC

For one, foster care has literally nothing to do with giving a baby up. Foster care only steps in when CPS has ruled a mother is unfit in caring for the child

2019-05-07 14:39:26 UTC

the adoption and foster system are currently messed up. if you were trying to get an abortion in the first place, you probably wouldn't be able to provide a safe and loving home to your child.

2019-05-07 14:39:28 UTC

So the whole "foster care" argument is incredibly nonsensical, as it coninflates two issues.

2019-05-07 14:39:54 UTC

and yeah anyways foster and adoption are both NOT alternatives to abortion

2019-05-07 14:40:22 UTC

adoption takes away your role in the baby's life AFTER it is born. not your role in it before it is born, AND during child birth

2019-05-07 14:40:23 UTC

So, what is your alternative to aborting the baby prior to it being born @Billcat
