But there is a difference in average wages between men and women
And imo that's mostly just a relic of the patriarchal society we had in the past and will sort itself out in the next 10 or so years
As for stuff like maternity leave imo there should be a certain amount of paid parental leave available to a couple and whichever wants to take that leave can whether it's the mother or the father
That'd both stop descrimination against men in paternity leave being shorter than maternity leave
And that along with a shift in societal norms towards both parents taking part in the initial care of a child would stop that from affecting job prospects and pay of women more than it affects men
Obviously there is a difference between what men and women earn on average, because men and women are different. Equal, but they generally have different goals and ambition. If a woman doesn't enter a stem field on her own free will, but a man does, you cannot fairly compare their wages and go "See? Here's evidence of a patriarchal society!" and vice versa. @The Lemon
I'm saying the opposite though
We don't have a patriarchal society anymore
there are 3 genders'
Women under 21 actually earn marginally more than men under 21
male female retard
*dab*
end of debate
?
The thing is there are more male CEOs etc because they're generally middle aged or older and when they got the job society was more patriarchal
Hence why the lack of patriarchy now means that problem will sort itself out as the older generation dies off @Billcat
or its because women just dont like that profession and they dont pursue it
I mean that's disproven by women under 21 earning about the same as men in the same age range
That at least disproves people who say they are less ambitious
```I mean that's disproven by women under 21 earning about the same as men in the same age range```
Because it shows they will go for higher paying jobs if they are able to
excuse me wtf
And they able to in our now less patriarchal society
look at that statistic again when they are 30
I was 18 when I finished high school
+1 year in military
So are most people...
and after that I went to pursue masters degree
I was over 21
people dont stop education when they finish HC
Fair but most Americans don't go to Uni
thats why that statistic is shit
And I think it's the same for brits
Also there's a rising number of people going straight into work or apprenticeships
thats mainly due to lot of people needed in skilled jobs
which has gotten wages rising
No it's due mostly to the introduction of tuition fees is the UK at least
Im speaking worldwide
The developed world has a shortage of skilled workers
Just look at Germany for example
