What’s the me2 movement
Is that good
The first like, 2 days was good
then it fucking went off the wall
What was it about
Essentially it was a whole bunch of people sharing their sexual abuse stories and a lot of accusations against a lot hollywood and business moguls that actually resulted in some court cases
Mhm?
and then it became an exclusionary tool against men who have suffered sexual and emotional abuse
yea?
my friend told me it was basically a movement about abuse n stuff then whenever men said their stories they said it was impossible
And like fucking everything out of a hashtag it devolved into a bunch of tiny bickering factions and lost all credibility
mind you this happened in like a week
That's ridiculous, men get raped too. No one should be silenced
volume of words child
I know
And if you bring up men also experiencing rape you get the whole "but women get raped more" argument
Oh God
Yeah anonymous polling has shown that men are abused and raped at a significantly higher rate than is reported
I hate that
I don’t say that
But some one I was arguing with did say men get raped more I didn’t wanna be that person but I just corrected them 😂😂
Yeah, but they're silenced because they have to "be a man" or they're accused of enjoying it
And another thing is US and even EU law is very weird about rape
Like in the Twittersphere and shit like that
Then being called gay
No
I believe it’s toxic masculinity
Like "made to penetrate" really isn't a legal definition even though its very much so rape
men are afraid to do half the stuff because they are scared of something I forgot what it was 😭
I believe its intense societal pressure on men to be stoic and closed off
and toxic masculinity borderlines a farce anyways
Its such a stupid fucking concept
The point is that both genders can get raped and that steps to support both sides need to be made, it shouldn't be another competition in the oppression olympics
Well said
"Lets take all these toxic behaviors and attribute it to men and masculinity and then insult men for being masculine while attributing lots of positive behaviors to femininity and say men need to be more feminine"
Societal pressure to be stoic? How?
Huhhhh
Its literally language tricks
That’s what I’m sayinggg
And if you *do* treat it as a competition then that kind of shows you don't actually give a shit about the problem, or at the very least are misguided as hell.
