Completely in retrospect the cops should not have woken him up with there guns pointed at the window. The cops should shoot him if he goes into that mode but that should not have happened because the cops should not have woken him up with there guns ready and shouting commands. What they should have done was used some sort of megaphone because that would allow him to make a rational decision before acting.

In that specific scenario the cops should have shot him but whoever was calling the shots should be held responsible for putting the cops and the man sleeping in that scenario
