Actually it wont be 2050 because it will take longer because we will have to lower the carbon dioxide that it is already on mars to make it habital for humans to stay. If you hollow out the inside of an asteroid you basically made yourself a shelter from there you can seal it and start filling it with oxygen

still it will make it inhabital to live on it, and that asteroid will not be controlled so it could travel farther then we ever know, for example that asteroid will probably leave the solar system and never return again, probably return to the asteroid belt, and we wont even have enough oxygen to keep us alive because the oxygen can escape that sealing or we will loose all oxygen and will sufficate to death of carbon dioxide, I dont think colonizing a asteroid is a good idea
