Things start to get dicey when a 70% marginal tax rate gets involved.
Like if you go all the way, and start to redistribute wealth, that’s where I would say it is immoral, as it is taking something that isn’t yours and giving it to people who didn’t earn it and don’t deserve it
Same here, I start to get a little uncomfortable when universal income and things like that are discussed, but I can see the reason.
ye good point
i think ubi is a bad idea
inevitably automation is going to continue centralizing power so something is going to have to be done about it but i really dont think handing out money is the right idea
inflation will just adjust
better off to provide better social programs
but even then its not black and white, you cant just start taxing the 1% at 99% or whatever the fuck
theyll just leave the country
It is an interesting predicament. I've never really thought about the topic, though. So I don't have any ideas prepared.
tech companies already have too much power and we need consumer protection laws in regards to free speech on social media and google
most pressing issue imo
Definitely
Funny though how we need to make laws to stop people from changing the rules
yep
as tech advances society needs to protect the consumer, its been the same thing throughout history
fair
@J. that’s communism my guy
UBI is horrible
Just had this debate like yesterday
A finish university proved that it has no effect on the work expended
Also the argument wasn’t even an argument
Okay, so all universities is correct?
Just a conversation all one sided
Which university?
Helsinki
I think
?
I’m not sure
But if the gov. gives its leftover budget, in rather small divendends, say 300£, wide spread across the said nation, it has no effect on work effort whatsoever
Cuz you can’t live off of 300 quid
@Godzilla3301 shut the fuck up
“ThAt’S cOmMuNiSm”
that does not say communism isnt full socialism
its just saying that self descibing socialist parties "generally tended" towards a more moderate framework - social democracy
complete socialism, whereby an authority enforces the sharing of all goods and property (in theory, never actually works that way) is communism
`Marxism-Leninism and democratic socialism were the two dominant forms of socialism in the 20th century; democratic socialism advocates economic reform through gradual democratic legislative action rather than through revolution. `
marxism-leninism = communism
