nope
you realise almost *all* of the eastern bloc tried the same system
Don't touch my shit or I'll stab you @Green Syndicalism @Green Syndicalism
which is a dumb system btw
<:nou:583247407165341696>
Your mom's a dumb system
cuba, vietnam and china tried a version very similar to it too
laos
the only country that tried a system of socialism *not premised on planning* was yugoslavia
and its very hard to analyse their failure because the IMF was involved pretty heavily
but i do think they had a lot of bad regulations
yeah yeah
fuck you're dumb
I don't know what your talking about
exactly
So maybe I should leave
>china tried s system of socialism very similar to it too
Uh, you should learn abour socialism in china more
GG @LegendaryFox, you just advanced to level 3!
did i say they were the same? nope
they had "maoism"
which is literally a variant on ML
so if its comes out of ML, is it really evidence that socialism doesnt work? or is it just more evidence that ML doesnt work?
i think its the latter
Socialism is smart
you kinda do have to be smart to envision an entirely new paradigm of existence
whether it works or not is a separate question
but when people call socialists dumb, i think they lack imagination/understanding
Pointing to examples where countries already had other problems (that their shoddy implementation of socialism certainly didn't solve) is pretty low hanging fruit when it comes to debating it's merits
yea exactly
im still not aware of a first world country that attempted socialism
and its clear that first, second and third world countries each have their own set of issues to deal with
economically speaking
but theres also dozens of different socialist models out there, the fact only a few variants of a particular type of socialism were attempted, hasnt provided any serious amount of evidence that the entire body of socialist thought is bunk
And aspects of socialism that ARE introduced in first world countries are in general successful and well-received by people
i mean social democracy itself was a form of socialism initially
and yet social democracy has thrived
its frustrating that the media is such a propaganda mouthpiece. it ruins discourse on interesting debates
they dumb down everyone's understanding and approach to political ideologies
As far as I'm concerned... There is a certain standard (that is pretty high) that must be upheld before any socialism should be enacted. Anyone who taking out more than what they putting in are incompatible and must be removed.
Starting with cripples like @Green Syndicalism
