2020-04-07 23:10:52 UTC

Hey @ThaOGKB we gonna chill on that talk

2020-04-07 23:11:32 UTC

If you have **informational materials for long distance learning** we have a channel for that

2020-04-07 23:12:21 UTC

It’s called <#663054896337125376> you walnut

2020-04-08 12:37:30 UTC

Idk weather to put this in here, <#574290286340079626> or <#644735944771108878> so here it goes. 'why you dont let anyone and I mean ANYONE touch your rifle'

2020-04-08 12:40:05 UTC

My first AR build was not long after I transfered out of active duty Army and into the Reserves. I did a SHIT load of research and decided on how I should build it. So I did with the lower I got for christmas and was all but completed exept the bolt carrier group

2020-04-08 12:42:12 UTC

I had a friend (im involved is scouting) who was a scout dad, loved guns and had a gunsmith buddy. He caught wind (from my dad) I was building a rilfe and wanted to take it give it to the gunsmith buddy to make sure it didnt 'blow up in my face'. I said sure and a week later it come back.

2020-04-08 12:44:43 UTC

Que 'who's gun is this?' different stock, different mag release, different foregrip, different everything. The guy dropped 3k worth of parts into my gun, finished it, guccied it. The only things that remained of what I bought was the barrel, upper, lower, buffer tube and trigger.

2020-04-08 12:45:32 UTC

Im fucking pissed. Complained a little, dad ended up liking it so i gave it to him and rebuilt my own

2020-04-08 12:45:59 UTC

So moral of this story NEVER let anyone touch your rifle

2020-04-08 12:46:39 UTC

Jesus H. dude, that's fucked

2020-04-08 12:47:49 UTC

RIP
What happened to the parts

2020-04-08 12:48:27 UTC

But yeah, unless you're a complete retard or have no faith in yourself, there's really no need to send an AR to a 'smith. AR's aren't "built" they're assembled

2020-04-08 12:48:57 UTC

He gave back the parts he took off which went into my new rifle. yea but I was new and wasnt sure yaknow?

2020-04-08 12:49:52 UTC

Honestly the first one I hand build I'll take it to my trusted gunsmith just cause I want that assurance
Just to be safe

2020-04-08 12:51:56 UTC

The problem I had with my build was aligning the gas port just right

2020-04-08 12:54:00 UTC

They were really expensive magpul parts which I didnt mind but the point is that he said 'eehhh just do it anyway I dont think he'll mind

2020-04-08 12:54:28 UTC

Regardless
The fact that you messed with someone's pride and joy
Just cause
That's wrong

2020-04-08 12:54:43 UTC

Especially when you were never given permission

2020-04-08 12:59:58 UTC

Honestly I dont know who to be mad at because I dont know who decided to put the parts on my rifle, my buddy or the gunsmith

2020-04-08 13:00:52 UTC

...
I don't know what to tell you man

2020-04-08 13:02:53 UTC

Just thought Id sgare

2020-04-08 13:06:25 UTC

This is it minus the sight and grip

2020-04-08 14:35:59 UTC

I mean I built my own and never took it to a smith. I figured since I wasnt actually modifying anything I was fine, since building an ar is pretty much like playing with lego

2020-04-08 14:38:58 UTC

@Hobbs oh hai there

I mean we're everywhere. No one escapes the reach of the Gøøns

2020-04-08 14:40:28 UTC

second mud test on the aug, total failure

2020-04-08 14:40:34 UTC

so sad, I love the aug too

2020-04-08 14:41:39 UTC

Looks like the ejection port got filled with sticky mud, causing the FTE

2020-04-08 14:41:53 UTC

seems about right

2020-04-08 14:42:12 UTC

The charging handle slot getting filled is unacceptable though

2020-04-08 14:43:22 UTC

Highly unlikely to actually happen, but hopefully this causes Steyr to do an update. They've not touched anything on the AUG for years, outsourcing any updates to third parties

2020-04-08 14:43:36 UTC

dude I know right

2020-04-08 14:43:54 UTC

the a3 has remained essentially unchanged for the better part of a decade

2020-04-08 14:44:01 UTC

Yup.

2020-04-08 14:44:19 UTC

only corvus defensive has made any sort of "rail system" for one

2020-04-08 14:44:59 UTC

i would absolutely love to see Steyr update the aug, that would make my wallet tremble

2020-04-08 14:45:00 UTC

Dude, the Corvis rails look like hot trash, hanging inches off the gun. I wouldn't trust them

2020-04-08 14:45:06 UTC

i agree
