Black markets help nobody, they harm millions of lives either directly or indirectly
People are going to do things if they want to do them, and we should have systems in place to allow people to do them safely
Ruining lives because someone has some mushrooms in a bag, or because someone tested positive for a plant is absurdity
i wouldnt support it but not because it has track records of black markets rising or one person dies from drugs and everyone is to blame kinda stuff
I just support regulation like raising age to smoke or drink but with a penalty like if searching for a job youd have to list that you smoke or drink since jobs would want a more clean person but they could still be eligible
I can understand that point, but from a personal liberty viewpoint Ive done plenty of drugs in the past, harmed no one, used responsibly and I see it as a benefit to people
Black markets exists because people feed them
Legalizing won't make it better
Just look at what's happening in the Netherlands
They became a narcostate
The weed black market still exists yes, have a friend who is working in it
But its minimalized and the decriminalization aspect allows for support programs that couldnt exist otherwise
Kids drink alcohol and smoke cigs anyway, they find ways to do it
but lifting stigmas and offering support is the key bit
People kill anyways, let's legalize murder
And your friend is a drug dealer
A criminal
he sure is

So better care for the people you are friends with
I again disagree, personal liberty
If we allow alcohol and tobacco to be legal, then we must acknowledge other compounds people have been using for thousands of years
my limit is no abolishment of drugs but rather offer big funds for reform programs like drug abuse victims
> No one has the personal liberty to commit a crime
***If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so.***
@DangerErin I can support that
That's beautiful and everything, but laws exist for a reason
Otherwise, whether a law is unjust or not is just the opinion of that person
What makes you believe you're right about drug laws being unjust but a pedophile that think laws against CP ain't?
Depends on the laws tbh, many have roots in issues, others are based purely in emotion not in logic
The drug war has not been a success, its been a colossal waste of funds, when it should be targeting those who truly violate federal law and harm people, and putting in systems to support users and making it safe for people
instead it punishes everyone and costs everyone
Again, it doesn't work because there's always people like you and your friend fueling it
The legalization of marijuana has shown that lax laws and decriminalization allow funding of proper support systems
Libertarians love to claim the drug war doesn't work, while pumping those criminals with money
Even if you support legalization, the very least you could do is to not fuel crime by buying illegal drugs
If you think we should ban something like pot, then you must claim we ban something like alcohol or tobacco
We have decades of evidence showing the detrimental effects of both of them, and the decades of research into marijuana show far less side effects
I do lmao
Then thats fine
I can understand why
I just dont agree
Laws like any political systems has backdoors
abolish cocaine? guess what Big Tobacco groups are currently growing Opioid field in Afghanistan and selling it back here in the US to black markets that poverties like abusing in minority groups
I also get it being against that, but I can't help but point the hypocrisy of claiming the drug war doesn't work while financing the people the government are trying to fight
Crimes are committed with money from weed sales, like it or not
