the American fort in America

2020-03-01 21:20:46 UTC

Should have applied for making it an embassy :D

So...

All you commie weebs gtfo

2020-03-01 21:21:32 UTC

Treason is defined as levying war against the United States.

2020-03-01 21:21:49 UTC

Roosevelt was pretty cool

2020-03-01 21:22:11 UTC

It's not treason to kick out an invading army from another country

2020-03-01 21:22:14 UTC

So what did the CSA do by declaring independence, attacking Fort Sumter, and continuing the civil war against America?

2020-03-01 21:22:40 UTC

Defend their borders?

2020-03-01 21:22:45 UTC

Treason

2020-03-01 21:23:44 UTC

Imagine believing in secession anyway.

2020-03-01 21:23:52 UTC

"destroying america to own the libs"

2020-03-01 21:23:58 UTC

It happened

2020-03-01 21:24:07 UTC

So not hard to believe in

2020-03-01 21:24:23 UTC

*believing in the right to secede.

2020-03-01 21:25:15 UTC

And despite what any law might decree, allowing free secession would result in total anarchy.

2020-03-01 21:25:15 UTC

Like, when the satellite states left the USSR?

2020-03-01 21:25:25 UTC

In the United States.

2020-03-01 21:25:38 UTC

Comparing satellite states to the Confederacy is gay.

2020-03-01 21:25:54 UTC

Donald Trump is a good man.

2020-03-01 21:26:04 UTC

Secession should only be legal in Europe, that's your contention?

2020-03-01 21:26:27 UTC

Satellite states were nations which each had a unique cultural identity. The Soviet Union actively oppressed them through physical means as well.

2020-03-01 21:27:03 UTC

You are saying the South did not have a cultural identity different from the North?

2020-03-01 21:27:27 UTC

Barely a sub-culture. Both the yankees and southerners held very similar cultural characteristics.

2020-03-01 21:28:34 UTC

It's also a joke that you decry "Make America Great Again!", while also defending a secession which could've dismantled the United States as a whole.

2020-03-01 21:28:48 UTC

Ok, well, either you're arguing in bad faith or ignorant of the sociopolitics of the era, not meant to be Ad Hominem, I simply don't see any point going on here

2020-03-01 21:30:18 UTC

Perhaps because you've provided non-examples. Imagine comparing a brutal communist regime to the Union in the 1800s.

2020-03-01 21:31:15 UTC

The southern states weren't "satellite states". They were simply discontent because the Southern aristocracy were mad that their institution of slavery was being slowly made useless by industrialization.

jannie got lost in my belly button and I had to use the Valium as bait to get them to come back out

2020-03-01 21:34:06 UTC

It's a bit more complicated than that, I encourage others to do more reading into the economic and political relations between N and S, very interesting

2020-03-01 21:35:20 UTC

There was also the fact that they were harming US industry by trying to sell most of their stuff to Britain instead

2020-03-01 21:37:03 UTC

In a sense, the Civil War was our version of what other nations' communist revolutions did

2020-03-01 21:37:34 UTC

Took power from the agrarian elite and cemented that of the industrialists

2020-03-01 21:39:06 UTC

It was partially a war about the transfer of power from aristocratic slave-owners to industrialists.

2020-03-01 21:41:34 UTC

The aristocratic class inherited the majority of their wealth from their forefathers, so they were barely adept at business themselves. On the contrary, industrialists were more intelligent and self-built.

Is there any way we can cut a lot of the memes on thedonal.win? The memes are great and all, but I would love to see more news curation and wikileaks-document-dump-esque content

2020-03-01 21:43:19 UTC

The value of TD was in the community curating the news vs accepting MSM fake news
