if you think it sucks now you should have seen it before FedEx

2020-03-09 06:52:58 UTC

wait did my friend just get banned for saying he hates trump

2020-03-09 06:53:02 UTC

thats unfounded bigotry

2020-03-09 06:53:04 UTC

MOOOOOODSSSSSSS

2020-03-09 06:54:59 UTC

that guy sent me 5 PMs obviously trolling

2020-03-09 06:57:47 UTC

a large minimum wage hike would cause McDonalds to automate absolutely everything they already replaced cashiers at all 14k locations in the US

2020-03-09 06:58:14 UTC

so could mean more people need to become trash collectors 😛

2020-03-09 06:59:03 UTC

wouldnt that just tank the unemployment rate leaving americans without jobs?

2020-03-09 06:59:08 UTC

i mean if you're for that

2020-03-09 07:00:14 UTC

there's no need to speculate this stuff has been done and studied

2020-03-09 07:00:49 UTC

its referencing Seattle again

2020-03-09 07:00:53 UTC

seattle raised minimum wage to $11 it resulted in a 1% change

2020-03-09 07:00:59 UTC

not about the $15

2020-03-09 07:01:27 UTC

pretty sure the impact on workers exceeds 1% benefit

2020-03-09 07:01:44 UTC

but i thought a 15 dollar minimum wage was supposed to be implemented to people can live off it 🤔

2020-03-09 07:01:55 UTC

what

2020-03-09 07:02:20 UTC

the whole conversation was about a livable wage being 15 dollars

2020-03-09 07:03:24 UTC

yeah partly, mostly about a livable wage being a valid idea and my point was the current minimum is a poverty wage

2020-03-09 07:03:45 UTC

but if we are having an open coversation id like for you to sum up this article so i dont have to read 57 slides

2020-03-09 07:04:00 UTC

I think I did.

2020-03-09 07:04:31 UTC

so out of 57 slides it resulted in a 1% change?

2020-03-09 07:05:00 UTC

yes, increasing the minimum wage resulted in a 1% decrease in low-wage employment

2020-03-09 07:05:29 UTC

so when you come at me with a speculative idea like it would destroy the market or whatever I am calling bullshit and maybe look to studies instead

2020-03-09 07:05:49 UTC

because it's easy to make false assumptions intuition doesn't work with complex economics

2020-03-09 07:06:09 UTC

it *seems* like simple supply and demand but it's not really

2020-03-09 07:07:36 UTC

when you reference a 1% change what exactly is that 1%
1% unemployment?
1% less jobs?

2020-03-09 07:08:34 UTC

This weekend I was at an event for a club I am in and one of the officers from another college was the Elizabeth Warren campaign campus-coordinator. I asked him what he thinks about Warren dropping out and he said that he skipped all his classes that day and cried in his dorm room. Lmao

2020-03-09 07:08:36 UTC

Hilarious

2020-03-09 07:08:57 UTC

increase minimum wage to 15 dollars > prices go up due to increased wage costs > people at 15/hr have the same dollar weight as before but everyone else has lost money

2020-03-09 07:09:15 UTC

Equilibrium/Inflation

2020-03-09 07:09:20 UTC

I have literally no empathy for Warren supporters as she is the most produced and dishonest politician the Democrats had and she had literally no political skill at all.

2020-03-09 07:09:47 UTC

its really sad how she blamed her not being popular is due to sexism

2020-03-09 07:09:56 UTC

Lets be real

2020-03-09 07:10:08 UTC

@Zephfyre yeah so if you read anything I said you would realize that's not the case

2020-03-09 07:10:09 UTC

The only reason she was popular was because she was a woman.

2020-03-09 07:10:24 UTC

When you have a victim mentality, the first thing you do is blame what you perceive to be the oppressor

2020-03-09 07:10:29 UTC

@armitage I just got here

2020-03-09 07:10:44 UTC

@Noey 1.1% decrease in likelihood of low-wage workers remaining employed

2020-03-09 07:10:54 UTC

How about instead of increasing minimum wage by law

2020-03-09 07:11:06 UTC

We deport low skilled illegals and make businesses fight for labor
