because the minimum is too low for people to live and too high for stupid businesses that would exist if it were $1/hour minimum
don't you care about my sweatshop that pays $1/hour because I can't even start it
speaking of... plenty of places pay less than the minimum as it is go find a mexican without paperwork
Isnt that what trump was preaching when he said illegals are taking the jobs of Americans
yeah but it's worse because he's talking H1-B hiring people from every country on earth but america
most of them send money home to their families it's fucked
so yeah trump is 100% right
anyway I don't want to go on about a fucking wage just consider what I'm sayin there's a lot to that story you don't have to go full $40 minimum and become a vegan feminist
god i hate trump
i cant wait till bernie gets elected
shut your whore mouth
i just love bernie
well yea im not an economist or ever claimed to be one, im just looking at cause and effect. How i see it, you're forcing businesses to pay employees 15 dollars more eliminating the competition for crappy but essential jobs. Which I think is what the whole philosophy of capitalism that the world cant run without competition. I think a good example of that would be UPS before fedex. UPS absolutely sucked until FedEx came along and provided competition causing UPS to step up their game
<:deport:670895539012894720>
I'm going to unironically not vote because every candidate fucking sucks
UPS still sucks my dude
if you think it sucks now you should have seen it before FedEx
wait did my friend just get banned for saying he hates trump
thats unfounded bigotry
that guy sent me 5 PMs obviously trolling
a large minimum wage hike would cause McDonalds to automate absolutely everything they already replaced cashiers at all 14k locations in the US
so could mean more people need to become trash collectors 😛
wouldnt that just tank the unemployment rate leaving americans without jobs?
i mean if you're for that
there's no need to speculate this stuff has been done and studied
its referencing Seattle again
seattle raised minimum wage to $11 it resulted in a 1% change
not about the $15
pretty sure the impact on workers exceeds 1% benefit
but i thought a 15 dollar minimum wage was supposed to be implemented to people can live off it 🤔
what
the whole conversation was about a livable wage being 15 dollars
yeah partly, mostly about a livable wage being a valid idea and my point was the current minimum is a poverty wage
but if we are having an open coversation id like for you to sum up this article so i dont have to read 57 slides
I think I did.
so out of 57 slides it resulted in a 1% change?
yes, increasing the minimum wage resulted in a 1% decrease in low-wage employment
so when you come at me with a speculative idea like it would destroy the market or whatever I am calling bullshit and maybe look to studies instead
