well yea im not an economist or ever claimed to be one, im just looking at cause and effect. How i see it, you're forcing businesses to pay employees 15 dollars more eliminating the competition for crappy but essential jobs. Which I think is what the whole philosophy of capitalism that the world cant run without competition. I think a good example of that would be UPS before fedex. UPS absolutely sucked until FedEx came along and provided competition causing UPS to step up their game

I'm going to unironically not vote because every candidate fucking sucks
UPS still sucks my dude
if you think it sucks now you should have seen it before FedEx
wait did my friend just get banned for saying he hates trump
thats unfounded bigotry
MOOOOOODSSSSSSS
that guy sent me 5 PMs obviously trolling
a large minimum wage hike would cause McDonalds to automate absolutely everything they already replaced cashiers at all 14k locations in the US
so could mean more people need to become trash collectors 😛
wouldnt that just tank the unemployment rate leaving americans without jobs?
i mean if you're for that
there's no need to speculate this stuff has been done and studied
its referencing Seattle again
seattle raised minimum wage to $11 it resulted in a 1% change
not about the $15
pretty sure the impact on workers exceeds 1% benefit
what
the whole conversation was about a livable wage being 15 dollars
yeah partly, mostly about a livable wage being a valid idea and my point was the current minimum is a poverty wage
but if we are having an open coversation id like for you to sum up this article so i dont have to read 57 slides
I think I did.
so out of 57 slides it resulted in a 1% change?
yes, increasing the minimum wage resulted in a 1% decrease in low-wage employment
so when you come at me with a speculative idea like it would destroy the market or whatever I am calling bullshit and maybe look to studies instead
because it's easy to make false assumptions intuition doesn't work with complex economics
it *seems* like simple supply and demand but it's not really
when you reference a 1% change what exactly is that 1%
1% unemployment?
1% less jobs?
This weekend I was at an event for a club I am in and one of the officers from another college was the Elizabeth Warren campaign campus-coordinator. I asked him what he thinks about Warren dropping out and he said that he skipped all his classes that day and cried in his dorm room. Lmao
Hilarious
increase minimum wage to 15 dollars > prices go up due to increased wage costs > people at 15/hr have the same dollar weight as before but everyone else has lost money
Equilibrium/Inflation
I have literally no empathy for Warren supporters as she is the most produced and dishonest politician the Democrats had and she had literally no political skill at all.
its really sad how she blamed her not being popular is due to sexism
Lets be real
@Zephfyre yeah so if you read anything I said you would realize that's not the case
The only reason she was popular was because she was a woman.
