2018-10-02 06:08:32 UTC

@Rainbow Monkeys you an apple fan?

2018-10-02 06:09:19 UTC

@Sheamus Actually the opposite. I'm just trying out the Apple ecosystem.

2018-10-02 06:10:39 UTC

@Rainbow Monkeys ah okay, hope that didn't cost you an arm and a leg lol

2018-10-02 06:13:35 UTC

@Sheamus Lol I forked out literally R19 999... oof.. But I guess it's an investment in someway?

2018-10-02 06:19:48 UTC

@Rainbow Monkeys 20k for something you aren't a fan of ๐Ÿค”

Well it is your money, i wouldn't want to dictate how you spend your money lol.. I'll leave it at that. ๐Ÿ™„

2018-10-02 06:32:13 UTC

@Sheamus Lmao. Well, I'm trying out the ecosystem. I didn't want to get it on contract because that's just more debt.

2018-10-02 06:36:42 UTC

@Rainbow Monkeys understandable, I'm also always avoiding contracts lol. But anyways I'm just ragging on you lol. I do it with everyone that sells a kidney to lock themselves into a proprietary system just to show off the brand lol. Hope it at least serves you well for the next 5 years.

2018-10-02 07:34:03 UTC

@Sheamus Yeah, Lol good metaphor. But in all honesty, I'm probably going to get Windows installed on the Mac, for gaming of course. I don't want to lock myself into the Apple ecosystem especially with all the crap Apple is doing recently, I was into the Android ecosystem but I want to have more than one ecosystem. Seems better that way. Lol. Nonetheless, here's to hoping it'll go strong for the next five years. My Samsung laptop which I got in 2012 running an Intel Core i5 put up one hell of a fight considering the amount of overclocking I've been doing๐Ÿ˜…, it's had to say goodbye to me a month ago. I really loved that laptop.

2018-10-02 07:39:10 UTC

@Rainbow Monkeys for 20k you could have just gotten a gaming rig for maybe 15k, and probably spend 5k on a fairly okay laptop for non gaming, portable porposes though lol, at least that's how i would have spent that money regarding computing lol.

2018-10-02 07:45:21 UTC

@Sheamus Did the research and for that price point, almost all the gaming laptops in that price point are limited to 1080P, and I'll also be using the Mac to edit YouTube videos. So that's how I arrived to the Mac, I was considering the HP Omen but meh, the specs weren't going to be what I needed for editing. That's what the MacBook will be mostly used for - video editing. I do my gaming on the Xbox One, and PC I only really play one game๐Ÿ˜… - Euro Truck Simulator 2. It's available on Mac but the multiplayer mod for ETS2 is only available for Windows PC, which is why I want to install the Windows 10 OS. For PC gaming I want to build myself a gaming rig, a proper one, not now of course.

2018-10-02 07:53:16 UTC

@Rainbow Monkeys yeah i wouldn't invest in a gaming laptop as your primary gaming system. Build a decent rig lol won't regret it.

Also why the Xbox? I can understand PS4 for the exclusives as I've done, but Xbox exclusives are on pc though as a shared platform lom

And I'm not even going to comment on the truck simulator lol, each to their own hey lol

2018-10-02 07:58:56 UTC

@Sheamus Yep, best way to enjoy gaming. A gaming laptop will just keep giving you problems and continuously paying for stuff you don't need to be paying for.

Lol why Xbox? Well since I moved away from the PS2 (which I seriously loved), I jumped to the Xbox 360 and I've since fallen drastically in love. I actually only upgraded to the Xbox One S back in last December without even blinking at the PS4 Lol. I think it's maybe because of the experience I had with 360 that I had the assumption Xbox One would be even greater. In all honesty, I'd probably only get the PS4 for Spider-Man and Gran Turismo Sport. The rest is history Lol.

Lol I understand, especially with my friends, they always try understand why I drool over the truck simulator but hey, like you said, each to their own.

2018-10-02 08:04:08 UTC

@Rainbow Monkeys i also went from ps2 to Xbox 360, was just hard to justify the Xbox one at launch, if you only got your Xbox one end of last year, you missed all the dissapointments that Xbox one was. Which changed when the previous director of Xbox was sacked to make space for Phil Spencer. But still, exclusives being shared with pc windows is the reason i never bothered to look at the Xbox one even after its redemption.

I suppose all is well if there is no regrets, but if i hear any regrets I'm going to rub it in your face <:Really:491737970811076618>

2018-10-02 08:15:24 UTC

Get a PC and an PS4 then you can play exclusives and almost all games

2018-10-02 08:15:36 UTC

@Sheamus Ah, I see. Truthfully speaking, Phil did a very great job at reviving the Xbox. But I have to agree, this whole play anywhere feature is starting to bother me. Why buy a console if you can build a gaming rig and the only thing you ever do is upgrade its hardware when the time comes. It takes away the fun of a console, especially since Xbox will now support mouse and keyboard, I mean like my gawd.. just somer shut down consoles altogether, get PCs and call it a day Lol.

Lol I doubt there'd be regrets. But to be honest, I think the only regret I'm having Is buying the newest Audi S5 Sportback. What's the point of a performance car if you can't even take it to Kyalami without the car having AIDS in between the track driving. I don't know how many times I've had to take it to Audi to get certain stuff fixed. My friends think it's not worth it considering being 23 years of age as well (insurance is a bitch) and I should rather get a Polo and call it a day๐Ÿ˜‚.

2018-10-02 08:16:17 UTC

@Apollo Lol I have to talk myself into getting a PS4. I'm an Xbox whore I guess.

2018-10-02 08:17:01 UTC

@Rainbow Monkeys did you watch the E3 2018 conferences? Xbox bought 5 smaller companies so im guessing they are preparing for the next generation of consoles, so in the next gen they will give ps4 a proper challenge

2018-10-02 08:22:13 UTC

Yeah PlayStation has gone a bit mad with their win this generation, the whole cross play controversy really made them look like dicks. Phil Spencer is pretty solid, i think the new console under his authority will be pretty damn good, will have to wait and see.

2018-10-02 08:27:19 UTC

he had an amazing E3 presentation this year

2018-10-02 08:28:00 UTC

I don't mind the keyboard and mouse support for a console, provided it's not proprietary. If anyone can get a cheap mouse and keyboard to play, then it should be just fine. It's the proprietary expensive ones that's an issue and lead to pay to win. Also the upgrades do bug me as well, what i liked about consoles especially for mp is that you know everyone is locked into the same settings, you know what you see your opponent sees. I've seen with pc how guys disable graphical features for cheap legal hacks lol like disabling shadows and grass etc. Console forced everyone into a state of equal opportunity and let the best skill win.

2018-10-02 08:34:10 UTC

@Apollo I attended E3, just not the Microsoft keynote. I think acquiring those companies was a smart move. Next-generation consoles might even come with a streaming only console.

2018-10-02 08:35:23 UTC

@Sheamus The death of consoles is upon us, maybe?

2018-10-02 08:35:42 UTC

must have been amazing to sit among hundreds of people who are just as excited as you

2018-10-02 08:36:13 UTC

consoles will only start seriously dying as soon as home pc's and pc's in general become more affordable

2018-10-02 08:37:58 UTC

Consoles for streaming lol the infrastructure is not really present just yet, but definitely working towards it. They still haven't gone digital only yet, which i think is the goal for the next gen consoles.

2018-10-02 08:38:29 UTC

@Apollo Yeah, but being my first time in the USA, alota shit went south for me. Plus being packed and the adrenaline pumping, I kept getting lost and spent the entire not eating. Honestly day one for me was an apocalypse. Getting to my hotel was a nightmare since I rented out a car and they driver on the left side, Lol I kept doing a mess of everything. But after a week I guess I was fine. But met some awesome people though.

2018-10-02 08:39:22 UTC

Oh i thought you were from the US.

2018-10-02 08:40:25 UTC

@Sheamus Thats true, considering the amount of bad internet a lot of people have in other parts of the globe. I honestly still think SA we're still good with internet, people have bad internet out there. So definitely not going to be a mainstream device though.

2018-10-02 08:40:41 UTC

@Apollo Nope, Lol I'm from South Africa.

2018-10-02 18:45:50 UTC

@Rainbow Monkeys maybe run a VM. With Linux or Windows on the MacBook?

2018-10-02 18:46:40 UTC

@Meerkat_RSA Yep, I'll use the Boot Camp that comes with the MacBook.

2018-10-02 18:51:27 UTC

Multi platform is always the best way to go. A PC can't edit as good as an MacBook. And a MacBook can't game like a PC.

Haiku OS released their first beta

2018-10-02 20:42:22 UTC

btw

2018-10-02 20:42:53 UTC

And non of the above platforms can be used for science as well as Linux can ๐Ÿ˜‰

2018-10-02 20:43:22 UTC

@Rainbow Monkeys Bootcamp is the way to go. Screw a VM and all that overhead.

2018-10-07 20:54:37 UTC

any chance for a crypto channel?
