With a name like Mylie Moo, are you surprised?
haha
I’ve spent the last 12 hours doing reading on black feminist intersectional theory and I’ve come to a conclusion. It’s got nothing to do with they theory itself but more of an observation on Political Science or more generally basically the school of social sciences.
There’s an absolute impenetrable echo chamber of thought In the school of social sciences. Why this is I’ll get into why this but basically let me start of by saying that social sciences are obviously not an exact science as it’s not necessarily predictive but generally more observational and explanatory. The tools we use to find the most objective truth is through rationality. Problems begin when premises are completely accepted without any justification.
A way to explain is with an example. Across the whole field of political study there sentiments which are never challenged simply because of some intrinsic ‘rightness’ of the concept itself. These ideals hardly ever go challenged. This includes(but obviously not limited to) communism being great, the west being the worst thing to happen to humanity and of course men(usually always white men of course) are the oppressors of society. This inadequacy or unwillingness to challenge these ideals begins at a corrupted form of post-modernism that rejects rationality(as it is a western construct essentially) and favors subjective anecdotal experiences.
This idiocy also ends at racism and sexism. Many of these ideas are simply not challenged because the black(especially black women’s) perspective is held to a higher standard simply on account of their race and or gender. Not only does this damage the study of social sciences but is one of The most (if not the most) damaging forms of racism there is. What’s going to happen is Universities who tolerate this type of reasoning not only will find themselves producing less amount of papers and studies but will find them being cited less as there is simply no value in them(unless of course you’re doing a meta-study on social sciences).
It really bugs me because of this trend continues its going to lead to societal regression and I feel if these pervasive ideas are allowed to continue unchallenged it will lead to a ‘dark ages’ in academia.
Sorry it’s long but had to Get this off my chest
And if any citizen reporters reading nothing would make me happier than if you use this to show how ‘racist’ this server
Is
💯 @SebVet
And Im planning on submitting something similar to the university but I’m going to make sure that their attempts to frame it as white/male/racist fragility will backfire on them. Also it’s probably not going to use as strong language
The point will be the exact same
Go take a xan Seb.
I’ll also go deeper into proofs like why that type of racism is worse etc..
xd
Gonna make it basically impossible to counter
Swb

@WuldGoGayForLauren not really, the shit got to me because there were like 15 readings and every single one I was like how is this considered ‘academic writing’
keep us updated.
I know a couple of American universities have had big decrease in new enrolments because of how social sciences have taken over.
Didn't a European nation (Hungary, I think) drop gender studies from it's universities?
GG @spursfan82, you just advanced to level 10!
I pay my fees to learn and not to have the almighty cock of far left bullshit thrust upon me
@spursfan82 yup except for the most renown university’s sociology departments(ironically Wits used to be one of them)
@spursfan82 Social Democrats are just Bolsheviks will better manners
Not to say it was correct but it was there
Libertarian vs Soc Democrats
Discuss?
They didn’t start with capitalism is oppressive because we say so, it began with empirical data. Now its capitalism is a means for white people oppress the developing countries because we say so and then we’ll go from there
Ironically it was Julie Eccles that inspired me to write this because most of her arguments are ‘this a fact in the study of sociology/political science etc.’
I heard that capitalism is racist
<:Malema:480048727592271872>
It is
Accept it or to the gulag with you
So what is their main argument that capitalism is racist?
He didn't bother elaborating
>something that requires hard work, luck and intelligence is racist
Oof, who's the real racist here?
They view oppression as a hydra(cut off only one head and it will simply grow back) what I mean is they see all the ‘arms’ of oppression as needing to be eradicated as they all give each other power in order to perpetuate the ‘system of oppression’. These arms are racism, colonialism, sexism, capitalism etc. They say capitalism necessarily enforces The White monopoly of power
The amount of proof’s you would need for this theory are astronomical but it’s the core of post-Thatcherism leftist thinking.
