@Voortrekker . Going to the river house for the holiday. But apparently the farmers nearby are allso feeling the drought. My concern is they are going to have to suck the river dry to maintain their crops.

2018-12-12 21:21:50 UTC

@BraaiBroodjie Yes and also if they take it from the rivir the possibility for crop desease is high, as the Vaal is polluted it runs into the Oranje aswell

2018-12-12 21:22:15 UTC

We reeds situated next to the Vaal.

2018-12-12 21:23:12 UTC

2018-12-12 21:23:28 UTC

2018-12-12 21:23:34 UTC

Wishful thinking

2018-12-12 21:24:05 UTC

@Voortrekker i allready has in voice chat. furries are a cancer and people need to talk about cancer

2018-12-12 21:25:27 UTC

Makes sense

2018-12-12 21:26:15 UTC

@Voortrekker. I honestly think next year is going to test the sustainability of our food security.

2018-12-12 21:27:22 UTC

It might, the east is done planting, they have higher yields but the bulk of SA pap comes from Western Transvaal

2018-12-12 21:27:23 UTC

GG @Voortrekker, you just advanced to level 3!

2018-12-12 21:28:44 UTC

I can easily see lamb prices going R250/1Kg

2018-12-12 21:31:43 UTC

Here in the Karoo shit is getting tight.

2018-12-12 21:32:26 UTC

The kak part about droughts is, it is not only the farmer who suffers. 1 Farmer pays for services from
1.Fertilizer rep
2.Pesticide/Crop Protection Rep
3. Seed Rep
4.Maize Trader
5.Diesel rep
6.Animal medicine rep if he has animals
7.Tractors and implements rep
8. Not to mention all the small bussiness in town i.e family restaurants

2018-12-12 21:32:48 UTC

All that adds to food pricing.

2018-12-12 21:33:24 UTC

no, the food pricing gets added from the abatoir and packaging afterwards

2018-12-12 21:33:40 UTC

the farmer doesnt decide the price

2018-12-12 21:33:53 UTC

the farmer is a price taker

2018-12-12 21:34:35 UTC

Yes but allot of farmers in the area sell their own meat.

2018-12-12 21:34:37 UTC

unless its a niche market

2018-12-12 21:35:00 UTC

yes true, but way cheaper than in P&P

2018-12-12 21:35:16 UTC

True. But the quality is not up to parr

2018-12-12 21:35:27 UTC

Where is this?

2018-12-12 21:35:41 UTC

You know when you eating Karoo meat.

2018-12-12 21:36:33 UTC

Marbling. And softer texture. Not this lean meat kak sold at PNP

2018-12-12 21:38:10 UTC

Not a fan of karoo lam myself, my father has Merinos that grazes on grass veld and gets rounded off with corn/legume mixture. Best marbling and nice fat on the choppie

2018-12-12 21:38:36 UTC

But that is probably my preference since i grew up with it

2018-12-12 21:38:53 UTC

Karoo lam has a very disticnt taste

2018-12-12 21:39:00 UTC

Evrybody like their own brand.

2018-12-12 21:39:07 UTC

True that

2018-12-12 21:39:23 UTC

Damn now i need a choppie

2018-12-12 21:40:04 UTC

I can tire of steaks, pork, fish ,chicken. But NEVER tire for a good skaap tjoppie

2018-12-12 21:40:21 UTC

Crunchy or moist?

2018-12-12 21:40:39 UTC

The fat must be crunchie the meat moist

2018-12-12 21:41:09 UTC

You sound like an intelligent meat eater.

2018-12-12 21:41:39 UTC

Haha poor vegans though

2018-12-12 21:44:59 UTC
