then a few weeks later (3 weeks) they will lay a single egg IF you have provided a good enough nest for her

she will inspect it over the 3 weeks and inform about any changes that she requires

and if its up to her standard (standards are based on how attractive she is) she will lay the egg in there

which means she has accepted you

she judges based on the quality of the construction of the nest..

hotter female demand higher quality nests

and males will work harder based on how attractive the female is

its a proportional relationship between atractiveness of the female to quality of nest construction..

obviously their is also a limit on how well any given male can built a nest

if you have low ability in nest building you will not get a very hot female

and if a female is not very hot then a good nest building male wont waste his nesting materials of building labour on her..
