for example remington got bought out and since then they've been putting poor finishes on their guns and have a tendency to rust

2018-12-15 04:39:46 UTC

We did have lever action shotguns banned, as they deemed the fire rate contrary to legislation

2018-12-15 04:39:53 UTC

oh dear.

2018-12-15 04:40:12 UTC

mossberg is a very good alternative to remington though

2018-12-15 04:40:19 UTC

they still make good guns

2018-12-15 04:40:20 UTC

soon you'll only have break action with a lock that you have to use a key to open it

2018-12-15 04:40:46 UTC

I may be tough with my beliefs, but I don't think an out right ban is a good thing either.

2018-12-15 04:41:31 UTC

thats kind of how you need to have ARs in california, if you have any "assault weapon" features your magazine needs to be fixed into place and the gun's lower and upper receivers must be separated for you to remove the magazine or load it with a clip

2018-12-15 04:41:43 UTC

Democrats love to mischaracterise the gun ban in Australia

2018-12-15 05:15:29 UTC

@garonedin On the bright side, if history is any guide, NYS has a <5% compliance rate with it's own rifle registry. Plus local rural sheriffs are known for simply ignoring gun laws whenever possible (often being elected simply to do just that). https://hudsonvalleyone.com/2016/07/07/massive-noncompliance-with-safe-act/

If you want a nice narrative on how this all plays out: https://reason.com/archives/2018/02/20/after-the-gun-ban

Still won't help much in the long run and painful in what it does to availability of the fun stuff. But these things have a way of getting ignored in practice.

I joined the GOA, NRA, & SAF last year, @Grovyle. 👍🏽

2018-12-15 05:27:50 UTC

cool

2018-12-15 05:28:28 UTC

I'm not interested in joining the NRA though due to their politics and willingness to "compromise" (bump stocks, no NFA repeal, etc)

2018-12-15 05:28:45 UTC

Only reason id join the NRA is being able to vote for board members to get the fudds out

No more compromises

2018-12-15 07:48:22 UTC

I just want to own full auto and an rpg damnit

2018-12-15 07:51:31 UTC

hallelujah dads and mommies, cowboys, rebels, yanks and commies, buy you're self some real red-blooded fun. If you want to make the grade, you've gotta have a hand grenade, and a full automatic G.I gun.

2018-12-15 11:11:16 UTC

Daily reminder that you are allowed to own fighter jets. See the comment about Larry Ellison at the bottom of the article.

That's like saying you can own tanks but the tank cannon has to be deactivated

How much would you guys give for a day with gun Jesus

2018-12-15 20:49:59 UTC

Well, its just a day, ~12h flight or so, overnight, so for me its somewhere in the 5k region or so.

2018-12-15 21:41:58 UTC

Can't use wolf ammo at my local range

2018-12-15 21:57:03 UTC

Why, the steel?

2018-12-15 21:57:38 UTC

yeah

2018-12-15 22:00:43 UTC

Indoor ranges ban steel-cases ammo why?

2018-12-15 22:07:44 UTC

They said its a possible fire risk.

2018-12-15 22:08:33 UTC

I would have to assume it would have to do with the materials they use in the construction of the indoor ranges, or they are lying for some unknown reason

2018-12-15 22:39:29 UTC

NRA Support for red flag laws (Extreme Risk Protection Orders):

Something I am not clear about with Extreme Risk Protection Orders (Red Flag Laws). How's depriving someone of their property without a trial and conviction first for due process? How exactly do judges "Temporarily" take someones guns before it "becomes a tragedy?" Does the police department send clowns with balloons and candy to their house graciously asking for them back, or a swat team in full gear with a search warrant giving them the force of law to rummage through your house?

@taekahn i always thought it was ricochets. steel is hard and tends to do that

2018-12-15 22:52:55 UTC

*shrug* i only know what i was told by the guy at the desk.

2018-12-15 23:16:40 UTC

```My ammunition arrived. :grin:```
Condolences....
2018-12-15 23:17:01 UTC
```Indoor ranges ban steel-cases ammo why?```
Because they are mostly garbage and cause Malfunctions.

2018-12-15 23:17:28 UTC

Having a stuck live round in your gun in a closed enviroment is a bad thing, wich is why they might have banned steel case ammo.

2018-12-15 23:17:40 UTC

because YOU might shoot someone or even yourself.
