But furthermore it's a counterpoint to your statement, Civic Nationalism would not allow for mass immigration
One issue with an ethnostate, especially when it comes to smaller countries, are concerns of genetic diversity.
In much the same way an ethnonat would defend teh core of their race
Not inherently, I suppose, but it is what is being allowed right now by many western countries.
a civic nationalist would defend the core of their nation
Nationalism as a whole has been given a dirty name over the past couple of decades, which I think is one of the core problems, yeah.
Globalism is the opponent of nationalism, and the dominant force.
I think globalism, like communism, is an eventuality, but we're just not there yet or even anywhere close to it.
lel
I came in the middle of the conversation, but, are you serious?
Yes.
from my cold dead hands
Communism simply does not work for humans.
It would have to be forced
I think a globalist structure COULD exist with nations remaining independent.
There will come a point where our quality of life will be so great that we won't even need money, but again, this is *way* into the future.
But any true globalism would be too authoritarian, or it would not function.
Another point Ethnonats get is that, western society can't go into a non-western nation and fix that nation.
That nation has to change from within.

Western Society developed where it did, I would challenge, not as a result of race, but as a result of trade.
>There will come a point where our quality of life will be so great that we won't even need money, but again, this is way into the future.
If there is no money, there will be no freedom
I'm inclined to agree.
if you are implying a world without freedom, it is possible
If we fall to a one world government
Are the two really so intrinsically linked?
I just don't see it lasting very long
there would be no competition.
Either that, or we'd fall to intense corporatism, and that's pretty scary, too.
(not that we don't already have that)
Nations should be able to compete.
Hell, I think the states in the US should be more in competition with one another
That's how the best ideas come forward.
all hail the free market
On a city level, on a state level, on a global level, that's where the way forward exists.
I know it's a bit of a utopian idea, but what do we do as the quality of life rises to the point where we don't even have to work in a lot of ways? Many jobs are falling into automation, and it's only going to get worse, to the point where even *now* we're whispering about UBI.
competition is essential. It's simple darwinism
I said in this chat before about some talk about California. Let them do whatever they want and let bad ideas fail
And the federal government should exist to protect the people, but not the individual state.
