If the Muslims enforced Sharia Law in Australia tomorrow, forced you to learn their language and convert to their religion (implying you couldn't escape), would you suddenly be cool with Islam?

2018-02-27 07:59:14 UTC

As far as European presence in Africa goes

2018-02-27 07:59:22 UTC

It WAS actually oppressive.

2018-02-27 07:59:43 UTC

No. Are you saying western culutre is foreign to blacks?

2018-02-27 08:00:02 UTC

Native africans, yes.

2018-02-27 08:00:23 UTC

Those who grew up generations in western culture, not quite so much.

2018-02-27 08:01:06 UTC

But when the Europeans left they just when back to african culutre. it's becase it's natural to them.

2018-02-27 08:01:22 UTC

It's because the Europeans were oppressors.

2018-02-27 08:01:38 UTC

You don't think they were to Americans?

2018-02-27 08:01:54 UTC

clarify.

2018-02-27 08:02:45 UTC

The Migrant Crisis in Europe is damn near the inverse of European colonization.

2018-02-27 08:03:44 UTC

With the numbers in transit to Europe, and the willful disregard by the governing bodies (for the most part), it's practically an occupation force.

2018-02-27 08:03:50 UTC

On that, I think we'd agree, right?

2018-02-27 08:04:07 UTC

Britian was oppressive to the 13 colonies forcing them to pay taxs and that sort of thing to the point that the 13 colonies fight a war to be freeded from them but they keeped western culutre.

2018-02-27 08:04:31 UTC

the 13 colonies WERE britain.

2018-02-27 08:05:25 UTC

the colonies were formed by protestants, fleeing the oppression of catholicism.

2018-02-27 08:05:47 UTC

and furthermore, they fled old western culture

2018-02-27 08:05:51 UTC

to create NEW western culture.

2018-02-27 08:06:19 UTC

The 13 colonies became America though a western country. Yor point with Africans was that becase Europeans were opprsive to africas the africans didn't stay western but then why did the Americans stay western?

2018-02-27 08:06:57 UTC

What you know as Western Culture today, was 100% Made in America. If you're talking about anything in Europe prior to 1914, you're talking the age of kings. (Corrected year)

2018-02-27 08:08:09 UTC

don't mean to bud in, but the American colonies were European colonists

their "naitive culture" was European, so ofc they stayed that way

2018-02-27 08:08:18 UTC

^ ^ ^

2018-02-27 08:08:25 UTC

Exactly what he's not getting there.

2018-02-27 08:08:51 UTC

Exactly Dr Wol western culutre is a white thing.

2018-02-27 08:08:54 UTC

No

2018-02-27 08:09:01 UTC

Not the correct conclusion.

2018-02-27 08:09:12 UTC

Then name a non white country which is western Rye.

2018-02-27 08:09:15 UTC

Japan

2018-02-27 08:10:11 UTC

Actually, yes. After WW2, the treaties that we signed with Japan gave us great influence over their culture, leading them to develop into a pretty western styled eastern country.

2018-02-27 08:10:27 UTC

And they seem pretty comfortable with it for the most part.

2018-02-27 08:11:02 UTC

and in turn, they gave us weeaboos and waifus 😦

2018-02-27 08:11:11 UTC

and tentacles

2018-02-27 08:11:14 UTC

Japan was forced to adopt western forms of goverment by America and yes has some aspects of it's culutre influnced by the west however they still have an eastern culutre.

2018-02-27 08:11:21 UTC

ehhhhh, tentacles were our fault actually.

2018-02-27 08:11:29 UTC

mea culpa

2018-02-27 08:11:47 UTC

Japan was forced, but when they were released from being forced, they didn't "regress" into Japanese imperialism

2018-02-27 08:12:05 UTC

Mmhmm

2018-02-27 08:12:13 UTC

It operated differently than colonialism

2018-02-27 08:12:49 UTC

The africans were foced to adopt wwestern culutre to but when Europeans pulled out they readopted afriacn culutre.

2018-02-27 08:12:49 UTC

OPERATED OPERATORS

2018-02-27 08:13:02 UTC

That was colonialism.
