before 2015 I was pretty inactive politically

2018-10-25 17:58:41 UTC

Just put it out there in a blog. When people just reflect on ideas in the quiet of their own mind, you have better chances.

2018-10-25 17:58:55 UTC

so I kinda get why the common normie would try to avoid debates

2018-10-25 17:59:12 UTC

Most people will never admit a point online, because they see it as a loss, so it's like the proverbial pigeon playing chess, just to knock over the pieces and crap on the board.

2018-10-25 17:59:21 UTC

The common normie also has a life and better things to do

2018-10-25 17:59:35 UTC

not too sure about that

2018-10-25 17:59:42 UTC

they waste their life on FB

2018-10-25 17:59:53 UTC

and live pretty shallow lives in general

2018-10-25 18:00:34 UTC

Yeah, they spend their free time on entertainment and not really deep reflective thought

2018-10-25 18:00:42 UTC

Is what Iā€™m getting at

2018-10-25 18:00:43 UTC

Yes and no. Politics is a waste of time. We pay others to do so, but because they have been completely incompetent at it, instead of getting on with our lives, we have to try to steer this boat around like the Titanic, before it hits the iceberg.

2018-10-25 18:01:57 UTC

We are PAYING other people to do what they are doing, just to then try as hard as possible to either prevent them from doing what they are about to do or undoing what the same people we paid have done.

2018-10-25 18:02:25 UTC

I wish we had liberals in here willing to express their opinions on policy.

2018-10-25 18:02:37 UTC

Yes.

2018-10-25 18:02:46 UTC

no sure where you are getting at. If I wanted to be paid for politics, I would follow that path

2018-10-25 18:02:49 UTC

It's very rare to actually see a liberal talking about policy.

2018-10-25 18:03:15 UTC

but personally I think politics is for underachievers in general

2018-10-25 18:03:18 UTC

Last time I can remember is back during the Obamacare debate.

2018-10-25 18:03:19 UTC

If the population could just all get together and decide what direction the country should take, we wouldn't then have to pay two opposing party who each undo what we paid the other party to do.

2018-10-25 18:03:57 UTC

you will always need a captain in your ship

2018-10-25 18:04:12 UTC

Instead of it actually being a vote, it's like a constant battle that is fueled with tax payer money.

2018-10-25 18:04:42 UTC

feel free to suggest a more effective method

2018-10-25 18:04:48 UTC

I'm up for discussion on that

2018-10-25 18:04:52 UTC

Make me emperor.

2018-10-25 18:05:08 UTC

Seriously, though:

2018-10-25 18:05:14 UTC

what makes you think you would do a better job than me?

2018-10-25 18:05:17 UTC

šŸ˜

2018-10-25 18:05:32 UTC

please don't go for hyper-democracy

2018-10-25 18:05:35 UTC

if we punished our elected officials for being obstructionist, if people got that into their heads, we would be far more efficient.

2018-10-25 18:06:00 UTC

obstructionism is by design

2018-10-25 18:06:07 UTC

I would be willing to hold both parties accountable. If the vote was towards one direction, but the other party simply wasted money to filibuster everything - vote them out.

2018-10-25 18:06:15 UTC

it's so crazy changes take time and effort

2018-10-25 18:06:17 UTC

IF they pull shit like Kavanaugh - vote themout.

2018-10-25 18:06:43 UTC

they do it because they know they can get away with it

2018-10-25 18:07:00 UTC

the same way Nike did a shit ad and knew that investor would stay with them anyway

2018-10-25 18:07:03 UTC

Well, yes.

2018-10-25 18:07:12 UTC

That's why we should no longer let them get away with it.

2018-10-25 18:07:20 UTC

sure

2018-10-25 18:07:33 UTC

Take the Article 13 in the EU as an example.

2018-10-25 18:07:37 UTC

and that's fair. But you will have to convince the others on it

2018-10-25 18:07:38 UTC

Nobody wanted that.
