@m1 You need to set parameters for yourself for the conditions under which you want to debate. If people don't want to meet you, you can't force them into a debate. You have to cut your losses.

Yes and no. Politics is a waste of time. We pay others to do so, but because they have been completely incompetent at it, instead of getting on with our lives, we have to try to steer this boat around like the Titanic, before it hits the iceberg.

We are PAYING other people to do what they are doing, just to then try as hard as possible to either prevent them from doing what they are about to do or undoing what the same people we paid have done.

If the population could just all get together and decide what direction the country should take, we wouldn't then have to pay two opposing party who each undo what we paid the other party to do.

if we punished our elected officials for being obstructionist, if people got that into their heads, we would be far more efficient.

I would be willing to hold both parties accountable. If the vote was towards one direction, but the other party simply wasted money to filibuster everything - vote them out.
