Your looking at it the wrong way. Its not that government needs to be anything. Its that people will make a government regardless of what you do and governments are manifestations of peoples needs in one way or another. In order to maintain the health of a people or to enforce a proper society, the governement should build up and maintain that society. In this way the government and the people are not really seperate entities but cooperational. The government is the mechanism by which smaller more natural groups come together under one umbrella out of mutual need. Its the difference between community and nation
I think what is going on with him is that he really wants to do something big in right wing politics but he cannot because he has removed himself from the game
he allegedly has all of these people who are basically supremely loyal minions and even volunteer lawyers and shit, but never seems interested in helping anyone else.
he got so upset with what happened with the comics thing that he isolated himself and basically refuses to stream with people or associate with anyone, really, so that nothing bad can happen to him, but that's just not how it works
