richest nation, but not per capita, so that's hardly a worthwhile measure if you're not actively in the process of signing trade deals and can use it for leverage personally. And in living standards US loses out to all the ScandiWegian countries, Germany, New Zealand, Germany, Switzerland, Canada, etc. Don't get me wrong, US is up there, but still a fair distance from the top by all conventional measurements.

For the most part I've found most vets are pretty reluctant to take charity, but they're fine with loans too.
