Neocons and neolibs are going to Hell

2020-03-18 18:22:44 UTC

Labels are unproductive. You want your homeland and fellow men to be well and prosperous.

2020-03-18 18:22:51 UTC

precisely

2020-03-18 18:22:55 UTC

And to preserve the faith

2020-03-18 18:23:17 UTC

My country is the definition of wasted potential and I also want my countrymen to do better

2020-03-18 18:23:46 UTC

We are on top of a literal goldmine and yet we do nothing with it because our politicians are corrupt and incompetent and our average IQ is lower than that of India's.

2020-03-18 18:23:56 UTC

I would say you are nationalistic but agian, labels are not important.

2020-03-18 18:24:09 UTC

The closest we have to strong authority is that of damned drug lords and lobbyists

2020-03-18 18:24:22 UTC

capitalism and marxism have ravaged my country

2020-03-18 18:24:32 UTC

and most of my countrymen fall for the false dichotomy

2020-03-18 18:25:13 UTC

Where are you from if you can tell us?

2020-03-18 18:25:23 UTC

Colombia.

2020-03-18 18:26:29 UTC

Ok.

2020-03-18 18:28:26 UTC

There isn't much else to say is there

2020-03-18 18:31:52 UTC

>the far right has historically been pro EU
No, wignats have historically been pro EU

2020-03-18 18:35:30 UTC

Otton Third was a wignat then.

2020-03-18 18:37:06 UTC

European Solidarity or EU are good ideas on paper, problem comes up with the execution of such ideas.

2020-03-18 18:37:17 UTC

I think Mosely and The Italian Social Movement were

2020-03-18 18:42:47 UTC

Or let me rephrase, the far right wouldn't approve of the current EU, the EU back even 20 years ago was not the same thing as the EU rn. The EU as more than an economic entity is a really new concept.

2020-03-18 18:45:50 UTC

A European state has been an idea for a while

2020-03-18 18:46:06 UTC

Mosley certainly did not just support a trade block

2020-03-18 18:46:12 UTC

As did Churchill

2020-03-18 18:46:55 UTC

People just don't like it being a gay liberal project

2020-03-18 18:47:13 UTC

The EU in its current form really started more or less once the Maastricht Treaty came into force.

2020-03-18 18:47:30 UTC

Sort of

2020-03-18 18:47:37 UTC

The European federal state even in right wing edition is a project that is almost utopic in nature.

2020-03-18 18:48:21 UTC

You would have to have some extremely strong "glue" to hold this thing together.

2020-03-18 18:48:29 UTC

It's not really utopian but many people don't like the idea since it's not nationalist enough but supranational or they lack imagination

2020-03-18 18:50:07 UTC

I'm gonna agree with Wisgoth on this one. The "glue" would kill the real cultural diversity that exists in Europe in the process.

2020-03-18 18:50:40 UTC

These objections are really basic when you consider how nationstates formed in the first place

2020-03-18 18:51:04 UTC

Or how long people could just rule places as foreigners without needing some moral imperative

2020-03-18 18:51:53 UTC

Europe is definitely culturally similiar enough for some sort of federal state

2020-03-18 18:52:14 UTC

Arguably certain groups would even get a better deal out of it culturally speaking

2020-03-18 18:52:46 UTC

Think of the Catalans who are virtually dominated by Spaniards and prolly will actually go extinct as something distinct without independence

2020-03-18 18:53:03 UTC

Regional dialects etc. especially in France

2020-03-18 18:54:32 UTC

Let's not forget how modern Russia looks like ethnically, not to mention the Soviet Union used to look like

2020-03-18 18:55:25 UTC

Neither of those last two are particularly enviable

2020-03-18 19:18:22 UTC

The point is that with Russia and the Soviets there wasn't/isn't even a need for any sort of feeling of commonality

2020-03-18 19:18:32 UTC

The "glue" is nonexistant

2020-03-18 19:20:01 UTC

Compare that to an EU where many shitty people explicitly feel European and even the ones who like to hate it usually cheer on other countries as they elect better governments
