I wouldn't say the far right
Enoch Powell was a euroskeptic fairly sure
What I despise about the EU has more to do with its bureaucratic neoliberal attitude
What's good kings
I'd rather reform it than to outright abolish it. I do like the idea of European unity, but not at the cost of sovereignty.
@Airman Zeno not much
I mean maybe my views align more with what one would consider paleoconservative
I'm not particularly nationalistic but I still want to protect my fellow countrymen from the ills of their country and the globohomo and I also want to protect traditional values even if I don't feel particularly nostalgic about the distant past.
the globohomo gayplex is a common enemy
Neocons and neolibs are going to Hell
Labels are unproductive. You want your homeland and fellow men to be well and prosperous.
precisely
And to preserve the faith
My country is the definition of wasted potential and I also want my countrymen to do better
We are on top of a literal goldmine and yet we do nothing with it because our politicians are corrupt and incompetent and our average IQ is lower than that of India's.
I would say you are nationalistic but agian, labels are not important.
The closest we have to strong authority is that of damned drug lords and lobbyists
capitalism and marxism have ravaged my country
and most of my countrymen fall for the false dichotomy
Where are you from if you can tell us?
Ok.
There isn't much else to say is there
>the far right has historically been pro EU
No, wignats have historically been pro EU
Otton Third was a wignat then.
European Solidarity or EU are good ideas on paper, problem comes up with the execution of such ideas.
I think Mosely and The Italian Social Movement were
Or let me rephrase, the far right wouldn't approve of the current EU, the EU back even 20 years ago was not the same thing as the EU rn. The EU as more than an economic entity is a really new concept.
A European state has been an idea for a while
Mosley certainly did not just support a trade block
As did Churchill
People just don't like it being a gay liberal project
The EU in its current form really started more or less once the Maastricht Treaty came into force.
Sort of
The European federal state even in right wing edition is a project that is almost utopic in nature.
You would have to have some extremely strong "glue" to hold this thing together.
It's not really utopian but many people don't like the idea since it's not nationalist enough but supranational or they lack imagination
I'm gonna agree with Wisgoth on this one. The "glue" would kill the real cultural diversity that exists in Europe in the process.
These objections are really basic when you consider how nationstates formed in the first place
Or how long people could just rule places as foreigners without needing some moral imperative
Europe is definitely culturally similiar enough for some sort of federal state
