@EYEFORKNOWLEDGE156 I don't agree. High culture comes from the top down. I have nothing against the elites promoting the arts as long as the art they promote is good.
I was half asleep when I made this comment and I managed to piss off half the server
@EYEFORKNOWLEDGE156 Don't worry about it.
Lol
I’m not
I just find it funny
Is there any way of interrogating newcomers before letting them in? There seems to be a lot of inactive newbs of unknown ideologies
it's easy to purge people who don't participate
if you are worried about that we can do periodic kicks
they can always rejoin if they were legit
That's why we require all noobs introduce themselves in the Canis Society. It's a super low bar, as we let in almost everyone, but you would be amazed how many people won't even make a one sentence effort.
What qualifies as activity?
posting
shitposting
purging works
just kick anyone who hasn't posted in the last month
what we use to do in the old DL
Hi I just joined. I recently discovered NRx, through a youtube conversation by a fascist and endeavour. I’m honestly just curious, and I wondered if anyone could answer my questions.
Thank you.
So, from my outside perspective, NRx sounds like a return to Edmund Burke like conservatism.
Yes, I think Burke was a whig. I’ll have to check later. He did, however, hate the French Revolution, and wish for an almost romantic return to tradition. As he saw it as having wisdom which the revolutionaries stupidly destroyed.
That’s interesting. I will definitely do some more research. I already know of charlemagne’s youtube channel, but I’ve only watched a few of the videos.
No
Thank you
I’ll be sure to check those out. Thanks for the help.
Open Letter is essential reading
more so then the dark enlightenment imo
its an excellent series
I should probably read the open letter again tbh
been a while
people tend to complain about his style, never got why
maybe because in some of his videos he just reads texts out loud without explaining much
I was talking about moldbugs style but that critique of Charlemagne seems off, the only times I can think of where he didn't offer explanation are in videos that were meant to be something more like an audiobook
@38tyejdjsk @NeoFuturist Nrx was primarily about critiquing progressive historiography and democracy. As a movement it didn't really have any positive beliefs, though individually everyone obviously had their personal goals. I have some videos on Moldbug and I also did a live stream with Charlemagne on him. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJMaXRtyWZzdr34aPLsQ2bA/videos
@Endeavour What happened to your video about the 1848 Hungarian revolution?
@Imperial J. Yay I deleted it. I changed my mind on the arguments I made. I felt I was too sympathetic to liberal movements which I don't actually support.
Feel conflicted about the German equivalent as well
Good that eventually nationalism got reintegrated into the old structures, if only for a short time
I agree tbh
even if not for the revolution Austria would have to make a compromise in one way or another
and a conservative compromise is way better than a liberal revolution
any thoughts on dutch converting church to a library
