Science implies that morality is universal.

2018-08-28 17:55:53 UTC

yes

2018-08-28 17:56:15 UTC

I'd disagree with that.

2018-08-28 17:56:24 UTC

you knwo all cutlrures have diferent principles and values right?

2018-08-28 17:56:34 UTC

Yes.

2018-08-28 17:56:49 UTC

lto uphold the morale one must go and follow your group princpiples and values

2018-08-28 17:56:58 UTC

get it?

2018-08-28 17:57:10 UTC

That's not arguing that it's a science.

2018-08-28 17:57:26 UTC

ethics is the science

2018-08-28 17:57:34 UTC

that is divided in many branches

2018-08-28 17:57:38 UTC

@Deleted User Virtue Signaling is a common term.

2018-08-28 17:58:13 UTC

ethics created the term morality

2018-08-28 17:58:19 UTC

No, people did.

2018-08-28 17:58:27 UTC

okay rye

2018-08-28 17:58:36 UTC

@Deleted User Talking about people acting like cunts online thinking they are in the right and doing a good thing, well, thats nothing new, it's just the SM give these people a bigger audients to feed their ego. I wouldn't worry about those ppl too much.

2018-08-28 17:58:52 UTC

That's a terrible starting point.

2018-08-28 17:59:11 UTC

Is it important to humanity that we live ethically? Absolutely.

2018-08-28 17:59:17 UTC

yea is nothing new i know, but the thing i am takling about is to replace the principles and values they are using in social media to sway people with the ones ethics teaches

2018-08-28 17:59:27 UTC

I went to a science college, Ethic, Theology and Morality were part of the Arts minors. The only non-Arts Ethics courses were the legal courses in support of a science feild

2018-08-28 17:59:37 UTC

But Ethics is more akin to art than to science.

2018-08-28 17:59:56 UTC

Half the people the agree with them in public don't agree in private. Think back to your school days and all the back stabbing going on there. It's the same shit just on a bigger scale.

2018-08-28 18:00:28 UTC

It's more of the shared art of human experience than it is to something that can be worked into equations, measured, and verified.

2018-08-28 18:01:05 UTC

Yes, there's logic to it

2018-08-28 18:01:16 UTC

"Ethics in Wildlife Research" was mostly about laws and conventions for how to conduct studies without violating principles that would risk acreditation or legal consiquense

2018-08-28 18:01:17 UTC

but there's no scientific method that applies to ethics, morality, or philosophy.

2018-08-28 18:01:30 UTC

in art school the teach ethics so you can define good and wrong pretty and grotesce is just a tool to define what you want to express

2018-08-28 18:01:35 UTC

what rye

2018-08-28 18:02:22 UTC

ethics is a branch of philosophy

2018-08-28 18:02:38 UTC

Okay

2018-08-28 18:02:45 UTC

you're going to have to define this heriarchy for me, then.

2018-08-28 18:02:55 UTC

Philosophy is still an Art

2018-08-28 18:02:59 UTC

Because you've already said that Ethics was a science with many branches.

2018-08-28 18:03:12 UTC

Now Ethics is a branch of Philosophy.

2018-08-28 18:03:21 UTC

Draw me a flow chart, please.

2018-08-28 18:03:46 UTC

Otherwise I'm throwing my arguments into the dark.

2018-08-28 18:03:49 UTC

mathematics still an art?

2018-08-28 18:03:57 UTC

logic still an art?

2018-08-28 18:04:05 UTC

Logic is a tool.

2018-08-28 18:04:07 UTC

philosophy means science

2018-08-28 18:04:49 UTC

```philosophy (fĭ-lŏsˈə-fē)►
n. Love and pursuit of wisdom by intellectual means and moral self-discipline.
n. Investigation of the nature, causes, or principles of reality, knowledge, or values, based on logical reasoning rather than empirical methods.
n. A system of thought based on or involving such inquiry```
