But it holds true for some of the routines like "racism = power + prejudice" "uhh no racism is just prejudice", they tend to win battles like that
"undocumented migrant"
"assault weapon"
"hate speech"
a new one that you'll hear soon is "robust expression"
I'm gonna look up robust expression and be prepared
it'll be used in place of "free speech"
the idea being that even though some speech is banned, what you have left can still be used for "robust expression"
I know its a joke, but that stuff is straight out of 1984 "Newspeak" stuff. Its really hard not to see them using 1984 as a manual.
Here's the kicker, though...
The ones opposing Trump think they're the protagonists in 1984
they don't win these battles because the control academia. Its because they scream the loudest
and the opposition has for too long just ignored them. opting for the "ignore and sometimes say sure" to shut them the hell up
Hillary Clinton wrote in her book she thought the lesson of 1984 was that people didn't listen enough to leaders, the press and experts.
how tf did they take that away?
Maybe to them Winston was the villain of that book.
that is disturbing given that this is the part who claims to be for gay rights
or ironically
but hey, when society raises a whole generation of adult children, what do you expect
I had one guy the other day say that Ted Cruz sounds like the pigs from Animal Farm.
"tell me what to do daddy government, i never learned to think for myself or defend myself. you need to defend me"
@Grenade123 a big part of it is academia though. not anything of academic merit but the fact that they can basically recruit and indoctrinate people from junior high onwards.
In the end Winston becomes an NPC too
they screamed the loudest and were given some shit to shut up
like a bad parent giving a spoiled brat candy to shut up
You can scream louder when academia gives you a platform and Antifa doesn't blockade your events.
and then guide them through their entire careers. it's a pipeline. they pick out promising candidates in high school, give them scholarships and mentorship programs, surround them with like-minded people in university (with tons of extra-curricular activist activities), and fast-track them through certain useful degrees like teaching and law.
not when your platform goes bankrupt and closes
the left are in the process of destroying all institutions they take power in, while alternatives are popping up.
I looked at some of the membership of BAMN and many of their highly placed people were chosen when they were 15-16, and guided all the way to a placement in a law firm.
Something happened where the left stopped policing their own. President Kennedy was very anti-communist, they used to know when they were going to far. The right still polices their extremes the left do not. I blame those who should be policing their side (or at least leaving it).
look at comicsgate, main stream comics are dying while alternatives are rocketing upwards and making bank while delivering good product
Kennedy was the left policing its own. LBJ helped set his death up
Iron Sights is shipping physical copies already.
I am very into the comics stuff. First time in a long time I bought comics.
The shift in the left began when the radicals of the late 60s graduated and worked their way into positions of power. they recruited and trained a second wave, and that's what we're dealing with now.
Have you ever read some of the old stuff of the media and academic apologizing for the ussr its so gross. many of them knew how bad it actually was too.
the proteges of the 60s radicals have been placed or have insinuated themselves into positions of power but all they know is the philosophy of divide and conquer. they have no ideas of their own. they are effectively parasites killing their host.
what old stuff?
The NYT recently (the last few years) ran some articles about how good things were under stalin and mao. I couldn't believe it.
that LGBT student society apologizing for gulags?
