People are beginning to suspect something smells in the academy, but it's worse than people realize. And the thought leaders of the left want to take that homogeneity and oppression worldwide.

2018-10-28 20:31:47 UTC

Funny, I always found the center right to be a lot more raucous that the center left. That may be because it's the center right that called me names and wanted to deny my family the right to exist. Again, it's all perspective. No one likes to be on the receiving end.

2018-10-28 20:32:24 UTC

I'm now trying to cross the divide and see the world through your collective eyes. Hopefully you might try the same from my end.

2018-10-28 20:34:39 UTC

"I'm now trying to cross the divide and see the world through your collective eyes. Hopefully you might try the same from my end." No, I will never see "Through your collective eyes," because everyone see things differently. Instead I will empathize and try to relate to how YOU SEE THINGS.

2018-10-28 20:35:11 UTC

I'm not sure what you're referring to unless you are referring to the moral puritans on the religious right. Those guys believe in knocking on doors and annoying everyone--even on the right.

2018-10-28 20:35:20 UTC

That's what I meant

2018-10-28 20:35:33 UTC

Yeah, they're increasingly marginal these days.

2018-10-28 20:35:38 UTC

Oh I have fun trolling Mormans!

2018-10-28 20:36:18 UTC

"Conservatism as an ideology seems to idolize the idea of being quiet, not causing a fight and then making a change from the top somehow." <- This is what I was referring to. I'm pointing out that the fundamentalist Christians have not been quiet at all about not liking "my people"

2018-10-28 20:36:30 UTC

Who are "my people?"

2018-10-28 20:36:34 UTC

GLBT

2018-10-28 20:37:09 UTC

Trolling Mormons, Khanclansith?

2018-10-28 20:37:17 UTC

How so?

2018-10-28 20:38:23 UTC

the religious right is dying of old age. they would never have permitted the election of trump if they had any real influence anymore.

2018-10-28 20:38:29 UTC

Anyways, if you find 3 random conservatives on the street (not the really obvious ones, like the volunteers for the Republican party) most are hiding "in the closet" at their places of work.

2018-10-28 20:38:33 UTC

I tell them about when I died, and how Jesus told me to fuck off and Lucifer asked me to be a morman, shit like that

2018-10-28 20:38:45 UTC

Lol.

2018-10-28 20:38:53 UTC

Ah

2018-10-28 20:39:21 UTC

Most conservatives tend to be very quiet and don't make a fight with anyone.

2018-10-28 20:39:23 UTC

The Republicans at my work are not in any closet

2018-10-28 20:39:30 UTC

Where do you work?

2018-10-28 20:39:32 UTC

If anything, it's the Dems who are hiding

2018-10-28 20:39:49 UTC

A hospital

2018-10-28 20:40:05 UTC

I can say that anyone even center left is hiding around me. But I'm essentially in academia.

2018-10-28 20:40:09 UTC

I am a leader so I have to be silent

2018-10-28 20:40:10 UTC

I think these days many Dems are in hiding because of the loonies loudly claiming to be dems

2018-10-28 20:40:27 UTC

Where's the hospital?

2018-10-28 20:40:30 UTC

I'm not in hiding, I just make it clear I'm a centrist

2018-10-28 20:40:47 UTC

Oregon, but not Portland

2018-10-28 20:41:21 UTC

If a Dem speaks up and doesn't agree with the fringe they are attacked for "Not being a real liberal"

2018-10-28 20:41:22 UTC

Let's just say I live in quite literally the reddest place in Oregon you can find with a population over 50,000 people

2018-10-28 20:41:31 UTC

That would make sense.

2018-10-28 20:41:49 UTC

Interesting. In my experience if you go around with the demographic ratios of a place and count, say, bumper stickers. The left is generally highly overrepresented.

2018-10-28 20:41:55 UTC

Which is what I mean.

2018-10-28 20:42:03 UTC

Isn't Oregon one of the states with actual, for real racists in the sticks?

2018-10-28 20:42:06 UTC

@Khanclansith , been there. I am not welcome at my alma mater after my speech as the keynote address at the 2011 GLBT graduation celebration.

2018-10-28 20:42:06 UTC

Small populations and rurral areas tend to more concertaive as a general rule.

2018-10-28 20:42:08 UTC

IMO I think workplaces should steer towards discouraging politics again

2018-10-28 20:42:27 UTC

I don't think that's going to work immediately though.

2018-10-28 20:42:35 UTC

I steer toward discouraging political discussion

2018-10-28 20:42:49 UTC

That's the ideal solution, but there's a large contingent that feels it's a moral right to be open at all times.
