literal borders between a nation are just a manifestation of a mental trick all humans have

generally to seperate that which they know, and that which they dont know

and then you have several degrees of knowing

or meta knowing.. like when you seperate what you know from what you dont know in say your house, you know your house, but not the outside of it (not as much)

but inside the house there might be a room where you are not permitted, which is another border

(like when you where a kid, not allowed in the study)

so even if you where to abolish the concept of nations, by removing their boundery borders

all the unknowns from outside what used to be the nations borders now suddenly become relevant to you, which increases anxiety at least, and possebly worse depending on the unknowns

open borders people should probably keep in mind, that even if only a fraction of the people from europe had traveled to the new world, many of the native americans still would have died due to disease, to the point of near collapse of their civilizations. they would have to have had near Japan levels of immigration control to maintain they civilization
