"Should people be free to choose the country in which they live?"
"In the fantasy world, we create βnationsβ and imagine ourselves as ongoing parts of them to assuage our fears of death, even at the cost of millions of lives in war and inane policies that lock people up for movement without a pass. "
In a way its true
But alternative is anarchy and bloodshed
in the fantasy world you have a working welfare state without borders. in the real world it's either the one or the other. well... in case of the US its neither but that's beside the point π
You could make it work if you got world gov
But thats not happening in our lifetimes
"In the fantasy world, we create β[private houses]β and imagine ourselves as [homeowners] to [have a safe bed] , even at the cost of [thousands] of [dollars] in [property taxes] and inane policies that lock people up for [trying to break in] without a [key]."
Pretty much
i hate that comparison but yeah
i want to do a social experiment where i have someone do a tedious task
but then give their reward to the guy who did nothing
"but he needs it more"
another one would be
get 3 people to agree to move boxes for 300$, they decide how to split the money
then at the last minute have a guy sneak into their group and ask for a cut
or better yet tell them no they have to split it with him
3 groups, folding shirts, 1$ per shirt folded, in the end of the event the group divides the money evenly in their group
we start letting random people into the event and they can choose which group to join
and they can see how much money each group has made so far
shouldnt the new people only be allowed in the groups with the least of their identity group? i.e if there are less females in one group and the person is female she has to go into that group - no freedom of opportunity
who cares what their experience is or how many t-shirts one group has folded
don't tell them how the money is split, have them do different tasks and a different amount of work. then pay them all the same.
^ ^ ^
I like Falko's idea better.
or have 2 companies... company A, pays you based on experience and how much you do... and company B pays everyone equally... see who joins A and who joins B ... and see which company gets the most done
company A is racist
obviously
company b is bankrupt
and ... half way through.... they all get one choice - to switch companies
guarantee all the crap goes to B and all the hard workers go to A
If half of the world leaders are women do you guys think it will be better or just the same?
isnt that already the case?
how about all the leaders are women?
I think it will be the same thing. Same wars and conflict
it would depend entirely on how each women performs
why do you hate that analogy btw?
what analogy
if all leaders are women it's worse. i mean... apparently merkel and hillary are the "best" the female gender has to offer π
That probably wouldnt be too hard to setup in new york
and May
