"the splc has lost all credibility"
I am not familiar with anything which comes from SoCal which has any credibility.
I emailed Sargon a little over a month ago suggesting he read Explaining Postmodernism and he posted a video of an interview with the author earlier today. Hicks is looking at this from a very detached philosophical sort of way (as he should, being a professor of philosophy), and Sargon is looking at it from a very 'applied' sort of way which is interesting to see. Again, great book if you really want to understand the philosophical foundations of the impasse we're in politically.
I got a notification to that splc video tho im not sub'd to the timcast channel yet
So just curious. Pjw sargon and dank are all trying a soft coup on ukip. How hard would that be? Actual question, how hard would it be for them to be accepted by contemporary politicians.
Unless they win seats what do they matter?
Exactly, which is why I am surprised by the announcement.
Do people In britan know of pjw? Or do people in scottland know of dank? Is it enough for a change?
with all the people that followed them they now have a small power base inside the group
Perhaps they think that being candidates or whatnot will give them some extra protection?
Like maybe the Thought Police will think twice about locking up someone whose name is on the ballot.
How would Sargon take it if he had a seat and reporters had to actually cover things he says?
Wouldn't precisely look good to be jailing opposition candidates, regardless of how unlikely it is for them to win. So they might feel safer being a little more controversial.
One problem they might face would be like that of Styx when he was running for some election. Basically Patreon runs afoul of campaign finance laws.
Don't know how that plays out in the UK.
I think he'd legitimize rather than fall to pieces. Right now he knows most of his subscribers are memesters and trolls with a few diehard liberalist academics. and i think people would still like him for it because he would be the hero they need.
Okay, it was more of avquestion of the political leverage they have in the fisr place.
And ill give them props sice it looks like a fools errand to me and that they see something I dont.
How many of the 800k he has is actually in the UK, and how many truly care about politics, then how many would actually join ukip
When people say join you mean like being registered demo or repub?
Thats a foreign thing to me. So sorry I dont really know what that entails.
Is the vote absentee by default? Or do people actually vote on a certain day
I have questions. Just not the drive to see them answered quickly.
Huh, id like to know too
Here's something to cheer you up

i like the first reply. "making more money doesn't make you richer."
i'd like to see what the definition of extreme poverty is, but either way I say thats a great defense for Capitalism.
When I was younger, the poor claim that being rich dosent always mean happiness and I did understand that. Now the socialists are demanding that the rich give up their wealth.
I prefered the time when the middle clast wernt being demonized. And ironically, the socialists are usually rich.
Middle class are a problem for Marxists. Marx's theory claimed that they would vanish as the top capitalists appropriated all wealth and that you'd be left with nothing but a tiny number of super rich lording over vast masses of subsistence level proletariat. If all you can conceive of is a zero-sum competition between rich/powerful and poor/numerous, then having a large and prosperous middle class really prevents you from realizing the future your theory predicts.
Now ironically what might happen is that our society becomes so automated, and produces such vast surpluses of goods and services that people can't even sell their labor for anything more than subsistence incomes.
Along with bazillions of unskilled near-illiterate immigrants flocking to western countries, the Marxists might end up with their proles after all.
At the top of the heap you'll have your capitalists just like in Marx's day, but you'll also have the intelligentsia who aren't subject to having their jobs automated away just yet.
One has to wonder if the left coast socialists will still want a revolution under such circumstances. Guess it depends on whether or not they can afford rent.
Correct me if i'm wrong, but automation would mean that prices would drop drastically, and even though low skilled labour will be less important, high skilled labour positions will increase, drastically.
Socialism will have even less chances of becoming a reality at that point ,because there wouldn't be a "worker's class".
That would hold if people were all identical. But the vast majority of people just do not have a high enough IQ to be software engineers, geneticists, etc.
Sure, and they would be the mechanics, and the soldiers
So there will be a growing number of people who have no use. No ability to trade their labor for adequate wage.
or similar jobs that cannot efficiently be replaced by technology
