Be warned that the first third of the book is really heavy in the jargon necessary to tackle philosophical systems. Might help to write down definitions of terms you don't understand so that you can refer back to them later.
yeah, that's him
Cool. Grabbed it. Free on Kindle
I still have a hard time thinking in terms of 'epistemology' and 'metaphysics'.
Also you might want to save the chart I just posted in <#398973785426100234>
Got it. Thanks
That is a rather odd graphic. Liberal Capitalism is modernistic and socialism is Post-Modernism. Guess I am going to have to read the book to figure out the leap.
I think its cuz Capitalism existed before 1900's
And Post-modernism is the counter to Modernism
So Socialism came after, and was the counter to "the top gaining all the wealth"
Liberal capitalism really got underway in the 1700s with the rise of fractional reserve banking. Basically at the same time modernism really gained momentum.
Also, Adam Smith's "Wealth of Nations"
Basically set the state for the science of economics, or more accurately, the application of the new discipline of science to economics.
Prior to that economics was more or less zero-sum.
I’m pleased with that Cortez chick winning. She was out spent by 10-1. Still won over corrupt corporate shill incumbent. Feels good. Gives me hope for the future.
Reminds me of the feelings I had when Trump won.
its gonna upset the establishment, "throwing money at it" is starting to become ineffective
I love upsetting the establishment.
like society is a biological creature starting to get immunised
Yeah, exactly.
maybe it really is all just cycles and biology
Maybe. Did you see the list of corporations backing that incumbent guy? I saw it on twitter, it was funny how many tweets it took him to fit them all in.
Rn in us tou can promise almost anything during campaign and nobody would call you for it
She's just a congresswoman. One of 534. She's not really expected to deliver anything.
Yep
Its far from the progressive wave
Technically not even a congresswoman yet.
Though it's inconceivable that she doesn't win.
She deserved her win
The most important part of her win is that it opens the door for more socialists.
So the democrats may either have to learn further to the left economically, or face a split.
Its all those ngos who opened them the doors
Yep
I literally don’t care about her politics. It’s how she got in without being bought.
It means any of us can field candidates if we will it so. Someone who will represent us first.
Agreed
So i watched tims video about her and what strikes me about her the most is how lazy program this was
It might be the presentation butthe amount od things she disnt talk about was shocking
its just activist talking points
Well thats kind of my point
Should be program
Not talking points
