Instead of leaving the eu the uk should work to reform it because the concept is a good one - its just the execution that sucks

Reforming eu is extremely hard to do tho

What you need is ppl movement spreading across borders

Like acta protests

They were effective because they spread all through the eu

One country on its own cant realy reform much at this point

You can't reform the EU because all of the EU laws are written by the executive in the European Commission - which is a bunch of unelected bureaucrats and civil servants.

Therefore the commission decides the direction of the EU.

Members of eu commission are appointed by member states

Each state appoints one

And then they grill them

the EU probably wont work because you're trying to align multiple systems of goverments, cultures, etc under a single umbrella

this was bound to happen once the honeymoon period was over

Its true there is some cultural friction rn

With east and west seeing things differently

But i think you can still talk things out

perhaps, but its much easier to talk things out as sovereign nations when you can go your own ways when you disagree, instead of being highly entangled

the best part of negotiations is being able to walk away

right now, you don't have that with the EU outside of a very intricate process (which has never happened before)
