They technically don't even have to attack everyone. Just wait long enough to become a large enough minority.

2018-07-25 20:34:43 UTC

Most people aren't confrontational. And most experience cognative dissonance with this stuff. Just look at what happens to some people on Reddit with respect to these things.

2018-07-25 20:36:15 UTC

it will not die because people confront them, it will die because people will stop listening to what they are saying

2018-07-25 20:37:25 UTC

and avoid people, companies and institutions that are still listening to them

2018-07-25 20:38:30 UTC

Yes, but what if that is *all of them*

2018-07-25 20:38:53 UTC

If you control enough of the culture and are sufficiently active you can deny effectively air to everyone.

2018-07-25 20:39:00 UTC

then the market will sort it out

2018-07-25 20:39:23 UTC

Not if they get all major players to act as a sufficiently powerful cartel.

2018-07-25 20:39:36 UTC

Suppose you can't get a loan. People are already being banned from all the paymet processors.

2018-07-25 20:39:38 UTC

then regulation will sort it out

2018-07-25 20:39:50 UTC

Not if they control the regulators.

2018-07-25 20:40:03 UTC

Actually, if they control the regulators there are no alternatives.

2018-07-25 20:40:05 UTC

and if the american market will not sort it out: the european or asian market will.

2018-07-25 20:40:08 UTC

You can regulate them out of existence.

2018-07-25 20:40:17 UTC

They're even stronger in Europe.

2018-07-25 20:40:32 UTC

the uk is not europe

2018-07-25 20:41:27 UTC

OK, who exactly are you thinking of. Everythign I've seen suggests Germany, Switzerland, Sweden and France are atleast as SJW-converged as the US and UK if not more.

2018-07-25 20:41:55 UTC

Asia is special. The fact hentai porn exists does nothing at the end of the day with this stuff.

2018-07-25 20:44:11 UTC

Germany is not even in the same conversation (anymore) as the us and uk.

2018-07-25 20:44:52 UTC

The whole social justice stuff had a completely different trajectory.

2018-07-25 20:47:26 UTC

(1) I'm curious to hear how so. I heard Germany cities were waging war on traffic signals for being discriminatory.
(2) Contagion. If every business plays social justice and makes it a mandate to do business, it WILL spread.

2018-07-25 20:47:46 UTC

#2 is why we shouldn't just say "someone else will take care of it"

2018-07-25 20:48:00 UTC

Especially since the anglophone world is so large and powerful.

2018-07-25 20:51:33 UTC

I think there was something in austria with the traffic signals... germany had female Ampelmännchen in the 90s

2018-07-25 20:52:15 UTC

Also... why the fk is Ampelmännchen a word in english?!

2018-07-25 20:56:00 UTC

The general populace in germany is moving more to the right/center currently. Has been since the mid 2000s, albeit slowly.

2018-07-25 20:58:43 UTC

I'd want to hear more than "moving to the right/center" to be convinced. Is there some kind of organized pushback? Is there a sign that they don't have influence?

2018-07-25 21:01:13 UTC

Don‘t have influence would be wrong. But it‘s not nearly as prevalent as it was in the 90s/early 2000s or as it is in the us.

2018-07-25 21:01:35 UTC

And the activists ARE well organized.

2018-07-25 21:02:04 UTC

(See G20 last year)

2018-07-25 21:05:02 UTC

One problem they face in germany is for example their alliance with islam. Because islam is not really friendly to a certain other religion that because of historical reasons has a lot more pull and can quite easily push back.

2018-07-25 21:05:30 UTC

Another thing to consider is that half the country lived under soviet rule.

2018-07-25 21:09:37 UTC

And the tactics currently used by social justice people are very reminiscent of blockwart and stasi mentality.

2018-07-25 21:11:34 UTC

Maybe. I'd heard more about Germany sending people to jail for 'hate speech' but I know very little of the specifics.

2018-07-25 21:11:48 UTC

Well...

2018-07-25 21:12:29 UTC

Germany does have hate speech laws if you want to call it that...

2018-07-25 21:13:28 UTC

Those exist since the 1950s though

2018-07-25 21:14:58 UTC

And can be mainly shortened to: holocaust denial, incitement to violence against groups of people based on their race, *religion* and so on

2018-07-25 21:15:35 UTC

I think given the history of the country one can see why those might be in place

2018-07-25 21:17:32 UTC

I'm not goign to argue the history of why Germany did it or felt it necessary.

I will point out that it's very, very close to what the Social Justice types want to implement and what they do.

2018-07-25 21:17:41 UTC

They're fighting 'fat hate'
