A person or a populace who is only loyal to their own values is a scary prospect to a prospecitve tyrant

on the contrary, a smart tyrant would do just that

If you know what people value personally, you can manipulate them with that

the issue with Tyrants, is that they tell people what they should want,

And thats not what people want so they don't listen/follow, so you have to oppress them

Well heres the thing, its a two pronged approach, they replace the people with another demographic with similar values, and arrest the people who object.

He gives his followers what they want, which is what they voted for, he doesn't tell them "You want X"

He tells them "I want you to become rich and powerful again so you can do what you want"
And people follow because thats what Americans want

but Trump kicks around (tyrannises) other nations

And in doing so, he gives his voters what they want, and they keep him in power

but the issue is, that the UK for example, thinks it can actually control those savages they import to "replace"
