Looks like Gillum got the Trump polling treatment

2018-08-29 00:39:53 UTC

Florida might have their own Cortez

2018-08-29 00:41:22 UTC

Hopefully just as stupid.

2018-08-29 00:42:46 UTC

He scares me honestly

2018-08-29 00:42:57 UTC

2018-08-29 00:59:41 UTC

What's the rules for Primaries in FL?

2018-08-29 01:00:10 UTC

poor Louis CK

2018-08-29 01:07:13 UTC

@pratel Rules? Ive only lived in Florida so im not sure how to answer

2018-08-29 01:07:36 UTC

The results table I saw and stuff I've read suggests there probably won't be a majority.

2018-08-29 01:07:46 UTC

At least, it's too early to tell.

2018-08-29 01:07:56 UTC

The question then becomes what happens in the runoff.

2018-08-29 01:08:00 UTC

Florida is a closed primary.

2018-08-29 01:08:12 UTC

So it's whomever leads?

2018-08-29 01:08:24 UTC

yup

2018-08-29 01:08:38 UTC

its always one red vs one blue

2018-08-29 01:08:54 UTC

I wish we had a third party running

2018-08-29 01:09:20 UTC

Well. I guess you're stuck then.

2018-08-29 01:09:29 UTC

Not sure what to say.

2018-08-29 01:09:40 UTC

third party won't work as long as we are closed

2018-08-29 01:09:52 UTC

Well Desantis actually gave a really good speech but I dont trust him

2018-08-29 01:09:53 UTC

I had a weird feeling he'd lose the runoff since it looked like the vote got split among the moderates.

2018-08-29 01:10:27 UTC

I like some aspects of California's runoff voting. its also open.

2018-08-29 01:10:42 UTC

It's interesting

2018-08-29 01:10:45 UTC

I dunno. I feel it tends to lock people out.

2018-08-29 01:10:54 UTC

Paradoxically.

2018-08-29 01:11:05 UTC

Open Primaries should be universally used imo

2018-08-29 01:11:14 UTC

And it opens up more avenues for party manipulation.

2018-08-29 01:11:23 UTC

@Lagomaster24 I think they are more popular.

2018-08-29 01:11:30 UTC

they are

2018-08-29 01:11:30 UTC

If Californians want to be evil they could all vote for someone who will obviously fail in the real expect.

2018-08-29 01:11:40 UTC

iirc most states have them anyway

2018-08-29 01:12:19 UTC

What I find odd is that you'd have so many candidates but not some kind of moderated voting scheme to prevent vote splitting or something.

2018-08-29 01:12:31 UTC

It's not a solution that usually works.

2018-08-29 01:12:42 UTC

But it is what it is I guess.

2018-08-29 01:12:56 UTC

Before I moved away from California the Dem were actually afraid of infighting leading to GOP victories.

2018-08-29 01:13:44 UTC

First past the post is a good alternative.

2018-08-29 01:14:26 UTC

that way you can vote for both your dream candidate and the most realistic winner.

2018-08-29 01:15:36 UTC

Eh. I think the bigger thing is that picking the leader gives a big opportunity for vote splitting and stuff.
