“I think this was widely regarded in the end as a human achievement (and) that’s how we chose to view it,” - That's just another way of saying "We Wuz Kangs"
America landed on the moon. Not the world. In fact, the main reason America landed on the moon was to defeat half of the world in doing so.
"Its an achievement for human and our way of revising history to belittle the hand America had in making that happen. Much like we belittle the role Islamic invaders played in the crusades."
Hollywood can't even get this right
It's socialism of achievement. You do all the work and then your accomplishments are taken from you and given to people who did nothing.
It's not only that. Achievements a socialised or claimed to be not yours in the first place but sins are personalised, and not just your sins but the sins of your father. Everything good, we done that. Everything bad, you done that.
This is the argument I was when ppl blame me for the imperialist past of the UK. 'Well, OK, so I'm also responsible for giving democracy to the world. Saving millions of lives in Africa through the invention of vaccinations and then not having them starve through the artistry that is modern agriculture.'
Someone goes right, Feminism done that, Something went wrong Not enough Feminism.
Police gonna go after the person who called 911 and arrest them for racism?
IIRC its 999
In US and Canada it is 911, in UK it is 999
yeah and in Germany its 110 for police, 112 for everything else (Fire, Injury + Death)
IIRC its similar in Japan
110 for Police, 119 for Fire Department/Ambulance
US thought about 999 but they didn't want kids just pressing buttons to hit the same one three times and call the cops
112 is european i think
well pan-european anyways
USA – 911
After growing up watching Hollywood movies, most of us aware that in North America, the number to call in an emergency is 911.
Canada – 911
Just like their neighbours, Canada's emergency number is 911.
Australia – 000
Lots of Brits love to travel to Australia, and many even move there for the copious amounts of sunshine. The number to remember is 000.
New Zealand – 111
When in an emergency in this beautiful country call 111.
Japan – 110 for police, 119 for ambulance and fire service
Brazil – 190 for police, 192 for ambulance, 193 for fire
This country has three different numbers, so call 190 for police, 192 for ambulance and 193 for fire service.
China – 110 for police, 120 for ambulance, 119 for fire
When in China call one of these three numbers for the separate services.
Hong Kong – 999
This one is easy for us Brits to remember.
The Bahamas – 911 or 919
In the exotic setting of the Bahamas, call 911 or 919 for all emergency services.
Barbados – 911
Like in the USA, call 911 when in Barbados.
India – 112
112 is the number to call in India.
So if you're off on holiday soon, make a note of these telephone numbers. And, if your next destination is not on this list, make sure your do your research before you fly.
"112" is the European emergency number people in distress can call 24h/24 and 7d/7 in all 28 member states of the European Union to get immediate assistance from the fire brigade, a medical team or the police.
Yep.
I think if you dial 111 anywhere in Europe it will take you somewhere.
don't have landline so can't try
well, I do but only IP w/o compatible router
in fact n canada even if you dont pay for a phne all lines can call 911 ....
they can only remove that if your a deadbeat and owe money to the local provider
According to US Law, even if you have a cellphone without a sim card in it, it has to be able to make 911 calls
ya they addng something like that not sure in canada
ts funny about cells , i had one now no servcie 9 months full charge i turn it on look at stuff for hours , never runs out but when you do that with service it runs out like in a hour or so every time
makes me wonder if our phones arent "on" more then we know , ya its a conspiracy theory but with gps they could like windows forcing an update turn it on and locate you
and unless you have source of the phone os and hardware you will not know i guess
