IIRC its 999

2018-08-31 17:15:45 UTC

In US and Canada it is 911, in UK it is 999

2018-08-31 17:18:20 UTC

yeah and in Germany its 110 for police, 112 for everything else (Fire, Injury + Death)

2018-08-31 17:18:28 UTC

IIRC its similar in Japan

2018-08-31 17:18:56 UTC

110 for Police, 119 for Fire Department/Ambulance

2018-08-31 17:19:40 UTC

US thought about 999 but they didn't want kids just pressing buttons to hit the same one three times and call the cops

2018-08-31 17:20:29 UTC

112 is european i think

2018-08-31 17:21:05 UTC

well pan-european anyways

2018-08-31 17:21:37 UTC

here is a list

2018-08-31 17:21:54 UTC

USA – 911

After growing up watching Hollywood movies, most of us aware that in North America, the number to call in an emergency is 911.

Canada – 911

Just like their neighbours, Canada's emergency number is 911.

Australia – 000

Lots of Brits love to travel to Australia, and many even move there for the copious amounts of sunshine. The number to remember is 000.

New Zealand – 111

When in an emergency in this beautiful country call 111.

Japan – 110 for police, 119 for ambulance and fire service

2018-08-31 17:22:16 UTC

Brazil – 190 for police, 192 for ambulance, 193 for fire

This country has three different numbers, so call 190 for police, 192 for ambulance and 193 for fire service.

China – 110 for police, 120 for ambulance, 119 for fire

When in China call one of these three numbers for the separate services.

Hong Kong – 999

2018-08-31 17:22:29 UTC

This one is easy for us Brits to remember.

The Bahamas – 911 or 919

In the exotic setting of the Bahamas, call 911 or 919 for all emergency services.

Barbados – 911

Like in the USA, call 911 when in Barbados.

India – 112

112 is the number to call in India.

So if you're off on holiday soon, make a note of these telephone numbers. And, if your next destination is not on this list, make sure your do your research before you fly.

2018-08-31 17:23:25 UTC

"112" is the European emergency number people in distress can call 24h/24 and 7d/7 in all 28 member states of the European Union to get immediate assistance from the fire brigade, a medical team or the police.

2018-08-31 17:23:56 UTC

Yep.

2018-08-31 17:26:44 UTC

I think if you dial 111 anywhere in Europe it will take you somewhere.

2018-08-31 17:49:42 UTC

2018-08-31 17:58:10 UTC

According to US Law, even if you have a cellphone without a sim card in it, it has to be able to make 911 calls

I can't believe the *Canadian Milk Mafia* is the sticking point for a free trade agreement.

2018-08-31 20:15:11 UTC

Well, I guess it's better than Trudeau making it into the Social Justice Trade Treaty as they were talking about doing when the idea of NAFTA talks started getting discussed.
