only for certain factions

2018-09-25 13:37:43 UTC

barbarians

2018-09-25 13:37:57 UTC

egypt, and the african-arabian factions

2018-09-25 13:38:12 UTC

but yeah that is accurate

2018-09-25 13:38:22 UTC

if you play pure vanilla

2018-09-25 13:41:22 UTC

i mean i play mostly heavily modded, i tested it out to be sure, with pure vanilla

2018-09-25 13:41:27 UTC

that seems like it might lead to some issues when playing the game, where even in factions where such generals were somewhat rare, you can unintentionally (or intentionally) end up with a female dominated forced. Which might be some-what immersion breaking. Sounds more like an unintended bug than a feature.

2018-09-25 13:42:18 UTC

not entirely

2018-09-25 13:42:40 UTC

unless you willingly just choose men as your candidates and statesmen

2018-09-25 13:43:00 UTC

you should never be able to just get females

2018-09-25 13:43:15 UTC

dominated is not only females

2018-09-25 13:43:24 UTC

unless the RNJesus is against you

2018-09-25 13:43:36 UTC

RNJesus is always against you, lets be honest lol

2018-09-25 13:43:41 UTC

yup

2018-09-25 13:43:57 UTC

however you can choose to not employ them

2018-09-25 13:44:33 UTC

and, i will say that i'd prefer if CA had not left it to the modders to disable the option

2018-09-25 13:44:41 UTC

it's bloody fucking common sense

2018-09-25 13:45:03 UTC

adding an option to disable them in game

2018-09-25 13:45:15 UTC

and get accused of being sexist?

2018-09-25 13:45:16 UTC

lol

2018-09-25 13:45:28 UTC

lets face it, its how things would play out. neither side would be happy

2018-09-25 13:46:12 UTC

true

2018-09-25 13:46:44 UTC

but it would've been easier to "debate" the detractors in that case

2018-09-25 13:46:47 UTC

guess they could have added "disable males too":

2018-09-25 13:46:48 UTC

Know what they could have did?

2018-09-25 13:46:53 UTC

Sorry, it was a bug.

2018-09-25 13:47:00 UTC

but still it seems like "all wives of male characters in factions which have female generals can then be generals" seems like a real quick way to take a like a 10% spawn rate and make it easily feel like 30% or higher.

2018-09-25 13:47:04 UTC

But heres a setting that allows you to set it if you want it "realistic"

2018-09-25 13:47:35 UTC

i don't think its much of a debate to call to CM an idiot who probably should be pulled from PR

2018-09-25 13:47:40 UTC

true

2018-09-25 13:48:00 UTC

though apparently the male birth rate is set to 65%

2018-09-25 13:48:09 UTC

for married couples in the game

2018-09-25 13:48:17 UTC

strangely enough

2018-09-25 13:48:34 UTC

so that decreases the chances of female generals even more

2018-09-25 13:49:09 UTC

does it? or does that actually increase it relative to random spawn pools?

2018-09-25 13:49:29 UTC

the random spawn pool is different to the birth rate

2018-09-25 13:49:34 UTC

or so i'm told

2018-09-25 13:49:54 UTC

well yes, but if the random spawn is only like 10% or something, but the birth rate is up at 35%

2018-09-25 13:50:11 UTC

does that not mean you have more like a 25% chance or something of getting female generals?

2018-09-25 13:50:31 UTC

with both combined yes

2018-09-25 13:50:59 UTC

but you mostly use generals from your own family to increase your own influence
